Eros Pt. 13

Simone’s Notes:

The term amour courtois ("courtly love") was given its original definition by Gaston Paris in his 1883 article "Études sur les romans de la Table Ronde: Lancelot du Lac, II: Le conte de la charrette", a treatise inspecting Chretien de Troyes's Lancelot, the Knight of the Cart (1177). Paris said amour courtois was an idolization and ennobling discipline. The lover accepts the independence of his mistress and tries to make himself worthy of her by acting bravely and honorably and by doing whatever deeds she might desire. Sexual satisfaction, Paris said, may not have been a goal or even end result, but the love was not entirely Platonic either, as it was based on sexual attraction. The term and Paris's definition were soon widely accepted and adopted. In 1936 C.S. Lewis wrote the influential The Allegory of Love further solidifying courtly love as "love of a highly specialized sort, whose characteristics may be enumerated as Humility, Courtesy, Adultery, and the Religion of Love".

Alice watched over Amertis in hostility. She and the love deities in Aizen Myo-o Academy were up to their eyebrows in work. Ai-Oni had released the Red Jasmine virus upon the living realm when Manami was born. It was spreading faster than wild fire in the forests. Lust and heartbreak cases were popping up left and right. Love deities were working around the clock to create an antidote to cancel out the virus. Lucky for them at the moment, the disease was only in stage one. But who knows how that would last before it would begin evolve. “Damn you, Ai-Oni!” Alice thought angrily. “You just had to open your game again and make us work in the process, didn’t you?

Still, Alice had one thing to be thankful for. Her couple, Jakob and Riza, were still going strong. The love deity and Ai-Oni saw to that with the best equipment. You see, Eros’ legendary black bow strengthens and purifies any arrow that passes through it. Alice had used her strongest pink arrow for infatuation. But when it passed through the bow, it turned white for true love. Only targets hit with white arrows would be immune to the Red Jasmine virus. Ai-Oni was perfectly aware of this and requested that Eros’ bow be used for this assignment. But, there was one thing Alice couldn’t fully wrap her mind around. “Why did she have me use Eros’ bow this time?” she thought. “This is the first time she has ever asked for it.” It was a love deity’s policies to never question the client, but one can never help but wonder…

The love deity spotted Jakob standing on the bridge at Mecca Hall Intuition staring out at the water. Suddenly, Alice developed a new urge. She now wanted to marry Jakob and Riza off together. The love deity had been trying to ignore this for months now. But the more the virus spread, the more this urge grew to take the assignment to the next level. So in the end, Alice succumb to her desire and formed a plan to try and get her couple married off.

The plan was much easier in her head. In an assignment for love deities, falling in love was the easy part, marriage was the challenge. Plans for marriage came in three parts: contact, timing, and commitment. Contact was the first part in trying to marry off a couple. Love deities weren’t allowed to have direct contact with their targets. They could only will them to do things. Even that took some high concentration to pull off. But she would just have to try. Alice landed down lightly on and cherry tree branch and began to focus her energy into communicating with Jakob telepathically.

“Jakob!” the love deity lightly called to him. The boy quickly looked up and around him to see who was calling him. Nobody was in sight. The mouse settled himself back down onto the bridge’s edge and stared back at the lake. Alice always knew that the first time out telepathic contact wasn’t always the best. So she tried again, this time with much more power to it.

“Jakob!” Alice called again. The mouse looked around again and found no one. The boy was confused now. “Am I losing it?” he thought. He had been under stress lately with the treatment his sister was undergoing and deciding whether or not to accept Mustang’s offer to send him to ARS. Jakob had heard that stress can do things to the body, but could it cause audio hallucinations as well?

“No you’re not!” Alice argued back. “Don’t be afraid. Just listen to me. I will explain my purpose to you. Only answer me in your head. Okay?” Jakob wasn’t still if he was still losing it or not. Should he even trust this voice in his head? Jakob nodded uneasily. Alice could see him from the trees.

“Good,” she told him. “I am the angel sent to watch over you and Riza. I have been watching you two for a long time now. You have a beautiful relationship with your girlfriend. But I must warn you now, there will be evil coming soon that will try and tear you guys apart. I want you to purpose to your girlfriend.” This was a surprise to Jakob. He was expecting this. The thought of marriage had never crossed his mind fully. He loved Hawkeye, but marriage wasn’t on the top list on their relationship at the moment. And who was this “angel” that this voice claimed to be? Was she really an angel or was this his stress playing tricks on his mind?

Why?” he asked Alice mentally. “What do you mean evil? What if it’s not the right time? What if she says no? What is my mom going to say?” Like all love deities, Alice was trained for these types of questions. And like all love deities, she had the right answers ready to go.

“The evil is far worse than I could ever put into words to you,” the love deity replied. “You will know when the time is right to ask Riza to be your wife. And when that time comes, she will say yes. Your marriage will save you both from succumbing to the evil that is rising. As for your mother, marry Riza because you love her, not because of what your mother will think.” Jakob pondered this for a moment. He still wasn’t too sure about what Alice was asking of him. The love deity smiled to herself and him kindly.

“Don’t worry,” she told him softly. “You don’t have to ask her right away. Take some time to think about. Your love is strong enough for marriage. And if and when you do decide to ask Riza to be your wife, you’ll be happy that you did!” Jakob began to relax now.

Okay!” he told her mentally.

“Great!” Alice replied. Then she disconnected the connection. The easy part was finished. Now for the timing and commitment. Love deities could not manipulate both. It was against policy. All Alice could do now was watch and wait. This was going to be a walk in the picnic.

Jakob walked back home in deep thought. Marriage was a concept he couldn’t grasp too well. His parents were divorced and Isaac had many broken engagements. How was he going to do with marriage? But then again, the voice had a point. He and Riza were close and in love. Marriage could work between them. However, they still had some obstacles to work out first. His mother and her ex were the main problems. They would rather cut off their legs than to let them marry.

Jakob froze for a moment. “I have to grow up and stop worrying about my mother!” he thought in an epiphany. “I need to help my mother to let go of me if I want to start a new life with Riza.” He realized that he could only fix half of the problem. Roy would have to sort himself out on his own. No! It didn’t matter about Mustang or Esther anymore. This was about him and Riza. At that moment, Jakob decided he wanted to marry the beautiful captain Riza Hawkeye. But he wouldn’t ask her just yet. Not until Naomi officially started her treatment. After that, the timing would depend on the mood. He wanted the proposal to be as romantic as possible, but not too lame and cliched. But a marriage proposal takes work. Where would he get the ring? What type of engagement ring would he get her? How should he pop the question? When would be the right time to ask her to marry her? All of these thoughts carried him back to the apartment that he and Riza shared together.

“I’m home!” the mouse called out down the hall once he got inside.

“In here, sweetie!” his girlfriend replied. Jakob set down his schoolbag, took off his shoes, and headed to the bedroom. He found Riza sitting on the bed waiting for him. Her long blonde hair was down and loose. Her wine red eyes were glowing in the sweet warm darkness. She was only dressed in light cherry blossom pink lacy panties. The nymph’s breasts were plump and full. Jakob couldn’t help but stare at his lovely girlfriend. Hawkeye smiled at him seductively.

“Welcome home, Jakob,” she said in a husky beautiful voice. Instantly, the mouse forgot all of his worries and he more enamored with her than ever. He rushed towards her and kissed her deeply on the lips. Hawkeye gracefully fell backwards on the bed and let her young boyfriend have his way with her. Their lovemaking was just right in their romantic nature. They were both the perfect for each other. Each time they made love, it was as if they connect physically as well as emotionally. They would become one in their bed of love and desire. Neither one wanted to let go of the other. The waves of heated passion always kept rising higher and higher even after he came within her and they were sleeping in each other’s arms. The dog and the mouse had to be within the other as long as they could. They felt as if they hadn’t touched each other in a long time. If was as if one would die they didn’t touch or weren’t near the other one within seconds. Jakob kept thrusting into her deeper and harder. He held onto her as tight as he could. Riza just moaned out in longing ecstasy at the feeling of him inside and all around. She always felt like she was floating when she was with him. But this just wasn’t about the sex. Hawkeye found herself feeling less of the serious and no-nonsense captain she was at work and more of the romantically girly carefree woman that Jakob had brought out of her after repressing her for so long. She had come to adore this side of herself and wanted to keep her out in the open as long as she could when she and Jakob were together. The mouse kept on riding her passionately. The warmth of her body kept him coming back for more. Jakob was that addicted to Riza. He had to touch her in anyway—sexual or not. She was just that addictive to him.

After the long heat storm, Jakob watched Riza sleep. The woman looked like an angel goddess just sleeping there beside of him. She was truly a beautiful woman. That “angel” was right after all this afternoon. He was sure now, Jakob Riis was going to marry Captain Riza Hawkeye. He would purpose to her alright. He would purpose in the best way that came nature to him. But not tonight. The boy wanted to hold onto this moment as long as he could before falling asleep. He definitely wasn’t going to tell her about the voice he heard in his head this afternoon. Jakob lightly leaned down and kissed her sweetly on the lips.

“I love you!” he whispered softly to her. Jakob lightly pulled the sheets over both of them. Then he lied down next her smiling softly her as he kept watching her sleep in the warm and sweet romantic night. He couldn’t wait to have her as his wife.
