According to the Kabbalah and the school of Rashba, the original three queens of the demons, Agrat Bat Mahlat, Naamah, and Eisheth Zenunim and all their cohorts give birth to children, except Lilith. According to other legends, the children of Lilith are called Lilin. According to the Malleus Maleficarum, or "Witches' Hammer", written by Heinrich Kramer in 1486, a succubus collects semen from the men she seduces. The incubi or male demons then use the semen to impregnate human females, thus explaining how demons could apparently sire children despite the traditional belief that they were incapable of reproduction. Children so begotten – cambions – were supposed to be those that were born deformed, or more susceptible to supernatural influences. The book does not address why a human female impregnated with the semen of a human male would not produce a regular human offspring.

The condo on the left most part of Central. At seven in the morning, life appeared within the gated community. Syd, Ella, Leon, and Gemma looked around. The leader looked back at the address.

“This is the place,” he said. He turned back to the crew. “Let’s go.”

Ella and the others nodded. “Right,” his dojin replied. They all teleported into the building before them. Their trip landed them in the lobby. The deities observed their surroundings. No one in sight and no lights turned on. Not open yet for the day.

“Which room is she in?” Gemma whispered. Syd reached into his black jacket and pulled out a small card.

“Down the hall to the right on the seventh floor,” he answered. The others nodded. They tried to teleport again. Only this time, nothing happened. They all looked around.

“What’s wrong?” Gemma asked. Syd tried to find the source. Up in the top corner, something caught his eye.

“I see the problem,” he said.

“Huh?” Leon asked as he and the others looked up. A red charm hung from the ceiling.

“Oh,” Ella said.

“So what do we do?” Leon whispered.

“We don’t have time to take them down,” Syd pointed out. “We’ll have to go up the old-fashioned way.” They walked over to the elevator and went inside.

The ride up turned out to be shorter than they thought.

“Wow,” Ella said as she looked around when the doors opened. “They really do have fast elevators in this place.” Syd shook his head.

“Nah,” he shot down. “We’ve been teleporting too long.” His dojin pretended not to acknowledge his comment.

“So,” she said. “Down the hall to the right on the seventh floor, am I correct?”

“That’s correct,” Syd replied.

“Won’t there be charms there too?” she challenged. The leader turned to her, giving her a snide look.

“I know that,” he said.

“How do we deal with it?” she asked. Syd went quiet for a moment.

“Uh…” he said. Ella smirked at him.

“You don’t have a plan, do you?” she asked.

“Shut up!” her man hissed. “I’m thinking!”

“We don’t have time,” his dojin pointed out.

“I know that!” he snapped. Gemma sighed.

“Look,” she said. “Leon and I will take care of the charms. You just go and talk to Janine, okay?” Syd and Ella went silent for a moment. What choice did they have? The leader just dropped his shoulders.

“Fine, whatever,” he mumbled. Gemma shooed them off.

“Go on! Go!” she said. The other couple nodded and hurried off. Gemma turned to Leon.

“Ready to do this?” she asked.

“Yeah,” he replied. The pair got right to work on their end. Ella and Syd came right to the door. The couple looked at each other for three seconds before he knocked on the door. Silence, but they listened in. Someone was already up this morning. Their breath caught their ear. Syd and Ella nodded at each other. The leader used alchemy and his powers to reach through the door and unlock it from the inside. He and Ella looked inside.

Janine sat on a big chair in the middle of the living with a glass of deep red wine in her hand. She had a stoic and cold look on her face as the couple walked into the room.

“Well, well, well,” she muttered. “You finally showed up.” She kept the same look on her face as Syd took a step forward.

“We need you to come back with us,” he said. Janine didn’t look impressed. Only one question came out of her mouth.

“Why?” she asked.
