Violet-Red:

Simone’s Notes:

Sharon Kinsella claimed that lolicon manga was a late-1980s outgrowth of girls' manga, which included male homosexual love stories and parodies of boys' and adult manga. This occurred as more men attended amateur manga conventions and new boys' amateur manga genres appeared at Comiket. Kinsella distinguished between the attitudes toward gender of amateur lolicon manga and that of male fans of girls' manga. While parody manga created by women ridicule male stereotypes and appeal to both male and female fans, lolicon manga "usually features a girl heroine with large eyes and a body that is both voluptuous and child-like, scantily clad in an outfit that approximates a cross between a 1970s bikini and a space-age suit of armor." This latter feature expresses both fear and desire for young women, who have become increasingly powerful in Japanese society. Kinsella noted that the dominant British and American genres and imports of animation video in the 1990s are derived from lolicon manga, suggesting that women in all of these countries have gone through similar social and cultural experiences.

From that night on, Edward had Ruby sold! She had fallen infatuated with him. He was constantly on her mind. Edward watched her from a sexy distance. He was smiling up to his ears all of the way. “She’s as good as mine!” he thought in obsession. He was right too. The alchemist came to visit her almost every day. The greetings started out harmless at first. Edward would walk her home with his hand in hers. But soon, it slowly got hotter and hotter. He began kissing on her in public. Even more, the incubus would be groping on her as well. He was buying her nice things. The alchemist had picked up taking her to school. The couple started going on dates more often. Ruby was starting to call Edward her boyfriend.

The girls were noticing that she was all a glow. Pretty soon, everyone wanted to know about her boyfriend. Ruby would just shrug and smile. (Edward told her that their “relationship” had to be a secret.) There were many speculations about who she was seeing. But all Ruby gave them was, “Oh, you wouldn’t know him!” But Alex knew. He was really worried for her.

The lamb came to discover the relationship when he was coming to school one day. Ruby and Edward were sharing a kiss before he left. At first, Alex was slightly confused. So, he began watching closely. His eyes grew wide in shock when he saw who it was. “Edward?!?” he thought in shock. “But what is he doing with Ruby?” Then, a bitter feeling of worry came over him. The alchemist was plotting something. He had to be. But what could, Ed want with another young girl? Alex was in deep fear for Ruby. He knew Edward pretty well by this point. So it was pretty understandable why Alex was really worried at the moment. But, he couldn’t really do much at the moment. Edward might torment him for interfering. The lamb did the wise thing and watched from a distance. He really didn’t like where this latest plot was going. The boy had to warn Ruby before it was too late.

After first period, Alex managed to track down Ruby in the hallway. She was at her locker getting her books for her next class. The lamb lightly tapped her on the shoulder. The girl whipped around quickly. Alex looked at her calmly.

“Hi there,” he said trying not to startle the girl. Ruby looked at him slightly confused.

“Yes?” she asked. “Can I help?” Alex swallowed hard.

“Are you Ruby Woods?” he asked her.

“Yes,” Ruby answered him. “Why do you ask?” Alex breathed out easily. He had found her at last. Now to tell her the terrible truth about Edward Elric.

“Listen closely Ruby,” he said to her. “To is about your boyfriend.” Rudy looked at him oddly.

“What about him?” she asked. Alex didn’t even bother to hold back at all.

“He is not a nice person!” Alex blurted out. “In fact, he’s a monster! He has raped me many times! Edward is an abusive monster! He’s only trying to use you for some scheme of his! I’m warning you, get as far away from him as possible! He’s bad news, Ruby! Leave him before it’s too late! Leave him, I’m begging you, Ruby! Leave him, he’s bad news!” The girl stared at him for a long while for a moment. Alex hoped that he managed to get through to her. But, Ruby just got her books and walked right past him. The lamb looked behind her worried. “She doesn’t believe me!” he thought in worry. Edward had won her over and he was too late. But it was only going to get worse soon.

By afternoon, Alex fell into a dazed trance during class. He tried to fight it, but he had succumb to it fast. That only meant one them was trying to contact him.

[Beginning of Trance]

Alex had himself in the lush woods. He looked around slightly confused. A cold dark feeling entered into his gut. Something was not right in this place. “W-Where am I?” the lamb thought. Then, the boy noticed that someone was now standing right in front of him. The lamb slowly looked up nervously. Edward was standing right before him. He was frowning at him like a naughty child that had down wrong. Fear seized the boy quickly. This really wasn’t good now! “Oh no!” Alex thought. “I’m in trouble now!

“You got that right!” Edward barked. Alex’s eyes grew wide in fear. He forgot that Edward could hear thoughts. None of his secrets were safe now. He was in open territory now.

“What did I do now?” the poor lamb asked him. Edward smiled at him wickedly.

“You know why!” he said to him. “Think on it!” Alex did so in silence. Then, he caught on in rush.

“Because I talked to Ruby?” he asked. Edward slapped in violently in the face. Alex yelped out in pain. The alchemist slapped him again. This time, the lamb kept quiet. Edward smiled at him wickedly.

“Very good!” he said aloud. Alex looked up at him in pain.

“Now,” his master said to him. “I want you to stay away from Ruby and keep your mouth shut!” Alex stared at him wide eyes.

“But I can’t!” he yelped out. “You’re torment her just like me if I don’t save her!” Edward slapped him violently again. Then, he did it again just to make sure that the point was clear to his pet. Alex tried his best not to cry as he looked up at Edward. The incubus alchemist frown at him coldly.

“No!” he snapped. “You are keeping your mouth shut and that’s final!!! Do you understand?!?” Alex stared at him with hesitant fear at first. Then he nodded in terror. Edward smiled at him wickedly.

“Good boy!” he called aloud. Then, Edward pat Alex on the head like a little dog and left the boy all alone in the dark woods.

[End of the Trance]

That evening, Edward took Ruby out to a small cafe for their twentieth date. Usual, the target was sitting with her “boyfriend” chatting happily about her day. But tonight, she seemed to be off in the distance. It was as if her mind was elsewhere at the moment. Edward knew why, but pretended that he didn’t and played the innocent concerned boyfriend.

“Sweetie,” he said to her. “What’s the matter?” Ruby turned to him with sick worry in her heavy blue eyes. Edward could tell what was coming next. He just had to hold himself back long enough for her to say it. Ruby took in a deep breath and sighed.

“This boy at my school,” she said. Edward waited for more.

“What about him?” the alchemist asked her. Ruby drew in another breath. She was too hesitant to talk at first. But then she settle herself in to talk again.

“He’s says that you are a bad person!” she blurted out. Edward looked at her surprised.

“He said that about me?!?” he asked in “shock.” Ruby nodded at him unhappily. Edward kept his eyes locked on his young target.

“Well,” he said. “What all did he say?” She broke down and told him the whole story. Edward still played the concerned boyfriend as he listened. He was pissed off on the inside. How dare that pet lamb come along and try to spoil everything! “I am so getting Little Alex later!” he thought bitterly. When she was finished, Ruby reached forward and grabbed her “boyfriend” by the hands desperately. Edward was nearly caught off guard by that gesture. Ruby looked at him with big blue eyes of desperation.

“Edward!” she said aloud to him. “Tell it’s not true! Please tell me it’s not true!” Edward smiled a smile of fake kindness to her. It was time to act on the final part of the plan. In a sense, the alchemist was glad that Alex interfered after all. It sped things up right along. He lightly grabbed her by the hands as well.

“It’s not true!” he said. “In fact, come home with me. I’ll prove it to you tonight!” Ruby’s eyes lit up in hope and delight.

“You mean it?” she asked in excitement. Edward leaned forward and lightly kissed her on the lips. The girl kissed him back. They lightly pulled away. The alchemist smiled at her richly.

“How was that for an answer?” he asked her. Right then, Edward had Ruby really sold now! She kissed him again happily. Edward kissed her back in victory. He knew that he now had his new little pet. The couple headed out of the cafe and all the way back to the military apartments.
