Strange Fruit:

Simone’s Notes:

The Nephilim are a group mentioned twice in the Hebrew Bible; in Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33. The Nephilim are said to be the offspring of the "sons of God" and the "daughters of men." Traditions about the Nephilim being the offspring of unions between angels and humans are found in a number of Jewish and Christian writings. It is believed by many Orthodox Jews that the Nephilim are rather the descendents of human nobility. It is believed by others that the "sons of God" who fathered the Nephilim spoken of in the text, were in fact the formerly righteous descendants of Seth who rebelled, while the "daughters of men" were the unrighteous descendants of Cain, and the Nephilim the offspring of their union. Translations according to New International Version. Note that translations frequently differ. In the King James Version of the Bible, "Nephilim" is translated as "giants" in the following examples. The term "Nephilim" occurs just twice in the Hebrew Bible, both in the Torah. The first is Genesis 6:1-4, immediately before the Noah's ark story, “When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years." The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.” The second is Numbers 13:32-33, where the Hebrew spies report that they have seen fearsome giants in Canaan: “And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. We saw the Nephilim there; the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim. We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."

The shit really began to hit the fan now. It all started with a little visit to the underground lab. Syd and Ella decided to drop in unannounced. The receptionist guard there nearly dropped the cell phone out of her hand when she saw them.

“Syd-sama! Ella-sama!” she gasped. “I didn’t expect to see you guys so soon! What’s going on?” The deities didn’t answer. Syd slammed down the papers on her desk. The younger woman looked up with a face drained of color.

“An inspection?” she almost yelped. “What for?” Syd frowned at her.

“You know what,” he said sternly. The receptionist lowered her head.

“Janine…” she mumbled.

“Yes,” he said. “Take us to her now.” The younger woman bit her lower lip.

“It’s not that easy…” she murmured. Syd caught that to her dismay.

“And why is that?” he asked. The receptionist jerked her head upwards. The terror became quick to spread in her eyes. Syd pounded on the glass as if to break it.

“Tell me the truth now!!!” he yelled. The poor younger woman broke down crying.

“SHE’S GONE!” she wailed. The couple’s jaws just dropped.

“What the hell do you mean she’s gone?!?” Syd hissed.

“They came and took her!”

“Who?!?”

The woman whimpered as she kept crying. Syd pounded the glass again.

“WHO?!?” he barked.

“A group of soldiers!” the woman shouted. Syd gave her a blank look.

“What?” he asked. The poor woman broke down and explained the whole incident with the suspicious soldiers coming in on Christmas day and taking Janine with them. Syd listened on, frowning. None of it made the situation any better. Ella had to hold him back from breaking the glass any further.

“And you believed them?!?” he barked.

“Yes!” the woman whimpered. Syd took a moment to think about it.

“Damn it,” he mumbled. “They are more advanced than I thought!” Ella looked on at him.

“So, what do you want to do?” she asked. Syd looked over at her.

“What else can we do?” he asked. The man headed out of the hallway. His bird followed behind. The receptionist watched on with a still pale face.

“What about me?!?” she cried.

“I’ll deal with you later!” Syd barked as he headed out the door. The receptionist hung up her phone as the door slid shut.

Meanwhile, Hughes was dropping off some mail that got accidently delivered to his apartment. It came quite as a curious surprise to him. This is addressed to the fourth floor, he thought. No one lives up there. Hughes paused and looked up. I don’t think…

He went to investigate by taking the bills and letters up to apartment 477. A cold feeling crawled into Hughes’ stomach as the elevator rode upwards. It felt like breaking into a “haunted” house. The man quickly shook his head.

No, you idiot!, he thought. The fourth floor isn’t haunted! It’s just your imagination! Hughes paused at that thought. I shouldn’t be thinking that after what we’ve seen over the past year…

The elevator doors opened up wide. Hughes’s face drained to white as he looked out on the dark hall. He took two steps to the doors. Despite it being an unusually warm night, he felt cold all of a sudden. Too late to turn back now. Hughes drew in a deep breath and exited the elevator.

Pitch black all around. Hughes took slow steps as he could feel his heart beating without touching his chest. Just get this over with and move on!, he thought. It’s as easy as that.

Suddenly, a soft pounding sound caught his ear. Hughes paused in his tracks. Hm?, he thought. I thought no one was up here. Curious, the man followed the sound of the pounding. Despite the pitch black, Hughes found the source with no trouble. Ironically, he looked up and saw the apartment number.

“477,” he mouthed. It would have been just simple to leave the mail there and walk away, but it just didn’t play out that way. Why? A small certain whisper and the hazy pink light from the crack in the door drew him in for a peek.

Manami stood before the crowd of succubi as she cleared her throat. The women and girls all went quiet in an instant.

“My lady slaves,” the Fallen Princess addressed them. “We have not been able to reproduce offspring of our own. But now, I have found the solution!” Little Iris and Victoria gave her funny looks.

“What if we don’t want children?” Little Iris asked. Manami gave her a little grin.

“Ah! But, we won’t be the ones to actually give birth,” she said. Victoria blinked at her.

“What do you mean?” she asked.

“Take off your clothes and you shall see,” the mistress replied. The female slaves all cheered aloud. Hughes wanted as the skimpy and sometimes leather littered the carpet. Manami stood equally naked before Victoria and placed her hand upon her chest. The Fallen Princess closed her eyes and began to softly chant something. What, Hughes couldn’t make it out. Suddenly, a puff of pink cloud appeared and drove into Victoria’s body. The nurse succubus gasped and nearly fell backwards onto the floor. The other succubi watched on amazed. Soon, they too wanted to partake in this “gift” their mistress had before them.

But before she could give it to the next one, Manami paused.

“What is it, my lady?” Santa asked.

“We have an intruder!” the Fallen Princess said with an evil shine in her eyes. The succubi all looked to the door. Hughes felt an icy chill run all over his back.

Oh shit, they know I’m here!, he thought. The man tried to back away from the door and run, but something grabbed him by the wrist and dragged him into the room.

The hall went silent.
