Ragdoll:

Simone’s Notes:

There are many slang words for a loose woman. They have been called whores, sluts, harlots, hookers, tarts, skanks, and the list goes on. They are usually seen as easy and willing to give themselves to any men. Prudes and society look down upon them. The church condemns them as well. Everyone sees they loose women as evil. But in reality, they are just as promiscuous as the loose men are. So why are women chastised and men are praised? It’s all in the view of how society is brought up.

Matt was woken up by a thud in the hall early the next morning. He thought someone was breaking in. So the rock god grabbed a pole he found earlier outside in the garden and a flashlight. Matt turned back to Poppy to see if she was still sleeping. He wanted to do this done as quickly as possible. The last thing he wanted was to worry his girlfriend with a burglar. Once he was sure that she was asleep, he crept outside of his room to the hall. He leapt forward and was ready to attack was the stick held above his head. “Freeze!” he yelled. The rock god shined flashlight at the intruder. A girl about fifteen turned and held up her hands in surrender. Her blonde hair was in short ponytails on the sides of her head. Her eyes were a deep blue. She had on a tight pink tank top and dark blue capri jeans with black sandals. Matt stared at her confused. “What are you trying to do? Kill me?” the girl hissed to him. “Bev?” the rock god asked in surprise. “Yes it’s me, you idiot!” she yelled. Matt quickly lowered the stick and flashlight, grabbed the girl with covering her mouth, and dragged her down the hall. “Let go!” the girl snapped under his hand. The rock god didn’t listen. He kept on dragging her.

“How did you find me?” Matt asked his younger half-sister as he brought her a cup of hot chocolate in the second floor lobby. “I called that Janis-woman that you’re always bitching about at Dark Moon house after asking dad where you were,” Bev answered. “She said you went to Amestris and were staying at the Clover Inn. So, I wrote down the address, used the money I stole from mom’s boyfriend to buy a train ticket, and rode here.” “I see,” Matt replied as he sat down with her. “And why are you here?” Bev’s face became bitter. “I got into a fight with mom’s boyfriend and beat him down for slapping her,” she answered. “Mom got angry at me for saving her and so…” “… You came and found me?” Matt finished. “Yep!” his half-sis answered. A pause came between them. “I could go to my aunt if you like…” Bev suggested. “No!” the rock god spoke up. “You are staying until it blows over!” His half-sister smirked. “Thanks!” she called. Matt smiled at her. He liked his half-sis because she was just like him! Party girl, loud, serious rock lover, Jimi Hendrix freak, pretty good liar, highly promiscuous, and loved liquor and certain drugs. Bev might as well be a clone of Matt himself.

“Matt?” a voice asked aloud. “Why are you up so early? It’s three in the morning!” Both he and Bev looked up. Poppy stood before them in a bathrobe. “Pops!” her boyfriend said quickly. “You know my half-sister that I was talking about, right? Well, here she is!” The girlfriend and the half-sister looked at each other for a long while. “Hi…” Pops said uneasily. Bev kept grinning. “So you’re Matty treat?” she asked aloud. “Pleased to meet you! He’s really a better deal than that sleaze you were dating!” *Sweat drop of Pops’s head at that statement* “Gee thanks!” the girlfriend called. “Okay!” Matt spoke up. “Let’s get back to bed, ya?” Then, he quickly hurried both of his women back to his room for the morning.

By sunrise, St. Mary’s Touch Hospital was in full swing. People were rushing in and out. Some of the nurses were swamped and others were on their down time. Daphine, Jacilyn, Jessie, and Kim were all near the reception desk chatting were Derdra came to them stressed. “Dee?” Daphine asked. “What’s wrong?” The junior nurse slapped down her files and sighed. “I thought that when I became eighteen I would get more respect,” she replied. “But I still get ignored, harassed, and treated like a little kid. I hate it!” The two nurses shook their heads. “That’s how junior nurses are treated here.” Daphine reminded her. “I know,” Derdra replied. “I just wish I can get results back faster!” The junior nurse just sighed and walked off.

“Aw, poor girl!” Jaks called afterwards. “She really hoped to get some respect after becoming an adult. She’s been disillusioned badly.” “We should do something for her.” Jessie spoke up. “But what?” Daphine asked. The three women thought about that for a moment. Then, an idea hit Kim. “She’s eighteen, right?” the woman asked. “Yes,” the three nurses answered. The military girlfriend grinned devilishly. “Why turn her into a little flirty sex kitten?” she asked. “She’d be able to get more work done faster around here. Plus, she won’t have many problems anymore.” The nurses pondered this proposal for a minute. Grins came onto their fake-saint faces. “Yeah!” Jessie called. “I always wanted to do that to Dee.” “Let’s do it!” Jaks called. “NOOOO!!!!” a voice yelled out behind them. The women all looked up to see Hughes stumbling out from around the corner to them. They all raised an eyebrow at him. “How lone have you been listening to us, Maes?” Kim asked in suspicion. “Long enough to know what you are planning!” the lt. col. answered. “And you shouldn’t do it!” Kim stepped closer to him. “And why not?” Hughes thought about that for a moment. “Because,” he said at last. “You’ll upset the balance! Nurse Chopin is supposed to be sweet and innocent! Please don’t make her trashy!” Sadly, his words fell on deaf ears as the nurses waved him off. “Yeah, sure!” Kim called. Then, she turned back to her new friends and kept talking. Hughes became worried for Derdra’s sake. “I better keep an eye on Nurse Chopin!” he thought. Then the lt. col. went away silently.

Yasmine was in the chocolate shop buying treating for Steven when something caught her eye outside across the street in front of the flower shop. It was a man dressed in pure black. He had on a heavy black cloak and a large black rice hat. He was watching her coldly. The woman slowly walked over to the chocolate shop window and looked out at it. She blinked for to see if she was losing her mind. The image didn’t change. The man was still standing across the street staring at her. An icy feeling came over Yasmine. “Trent?” she thought with a shutter. Cold memories about their days together flooded her head like a bad stream. “Excuse me, miss?” a voice called to her. The hunter quickly looked down. A small shop woman was looking up at her. “Miss,” she began again. “Do you want me to wrap your purchase up?” Yasmine stared at her for a moment. Then she said, “Yeah, sure. Go ahead.” Then, the clerk walked back to the desk. The hunter began to follow behind, but then she looked back. The man across the street was gone. Yas shook her head in confusion. Did she imagine that she saw Trent? Was she losing it badly? Yasmine shook her head again and walked over the counter.

Days trailed on neatly. Derdra was enrolled into her friends’ “charm school” as they called it. She was skeptical about the whole idea at first. (“Me? A sex kitten?” she even asked them. “Come on,” Kim told her. “Every woman on the planet is. They just need to see that!”) But after Jaks, Jessie, and Daphine talked her into it, the junior nurse agreed to give it a try. Derdra paid attention closely. She was quick to learn. That’s what got her through the nurse’s program in the first place. Pretty soon, the junior nurse was flirting around with the doctors and every male in the hospital to get around. She got her results back faster as a result. But the junior nurse didn’t stop there. Derdra used her flirting techniques to ahead in lines, get favors done for her, get out of shifts she didn’t want to do, and get little bonuses for herself. Dee was enjoying the flirty new her completely. Her teachers were proud of the work they had done. But Hughes on the other hand was upset. “You’ve created a monster!” he wailed out to Kim and Jaks on Wednesday after they witnessed Derdra cut in the front of the line long in the cafeteria to get the last orange juice. Dee had slipped the deal by flirting with the lunch man and kissing him on the cheek. “No Maes,” Kim answered. “We helped her go further in her career.” “How?” the lt. colonel asked. “By making her seem desperate?” Andy’s girl walked up to him smiling. “Aw, you poor man,” she replied. “No have no faith in the female sexuality, do you?” Hughes didn’t answer her.

Then, an elder man worked over to reception’s desk bitterly. His short white hair was neatly combed. His glasses were a neat black frame. He was dressed really nicely in a black business suit with a white silk tie. The man had his leather briefcase tightly in his hands. He looked pissed off about something. His face was as red as a tomato. Jessie looked at him concerned. “Can I help you sir?” she asked cautiously. The man slammed his briefcase down onto the desk loudly. “A little bitch junior nurse cut in me line to get an orange juice after flirting with the cafeteria worker!” he barked. The nurse raised an eyebrow at him. “I’m so sorry to hear that sir…” she said. The man took in deep breaths to calm himself down a little bit. “Anyway,” he said. “Do you know where this Nurse Chopin is? I sure hope she’s different! I refuse to pass a nurse that use sex appeal to get around!” The other three nurses became pale really quick. Derdra was the nurse that he was complaining about earlier. Right away they knew who this man was. He was the from the hospital board. This was one of the directors since out here to interview the junior nurses to see who stays in the program or who gets cut. “Well,” the man said. “Where is she?” “Uh…” Daphine spoke up. “We don’t know!” The man tried to keep calm. “Okay!” he said. “I’ll keep looking then.” Then, the director stormed off to look for Derdra. Jacilyn, Daphine, and Jessie were in deep worry. They had just destroyed their friend’s career. Hughes looked at them as if to say, “I told you this was a bad idea!” “Now, you’ve seen what you’ve done, ladies?” he asked them. The girls were too worried to listen. They had to find Derdra and stop her from being interviewed today!

“Any sign of her yet?” Jaks asked. “No!” Jessie answered. Both were still upset. The timing couldn’t have been worse. They had forgotten about the “judgment day” for junior nurses. The girls thought that was next week. This was poor planning on their part. They only hoped to undo seem of the damage. “Hey guys!” they heard someone call out. Jacilyn and Jessie looked up quickly. Derdra stood before them smiling. Her friends still seemed a tad bit upset. The junior nurse looked at them concerned. “Is something wrong?” she asked. Jaks and Jessie straightened up quickly. “Uh… nothing!” Jessie answered. The junior nurse smiled again. “Okay,” she said. “I’ll go for my interview now!” The girls became worried again as Derdra began to leave. “No!” Jessie yelled out as she grabbed her friend by the arm. The junior nurse looked confused. “What do you mean?” she asked. “Uh…” Jaks began. “Because, he’s not coming today!” “Really?” Dee asked. “Yeah!” both nurses said quickly. A silence passed them slowly. “That’s funny,” Derdra spoke up. “Because, that’s him right there.” The girls quickly looked up. And there he was! The board director was looking around for her. Derdra quickly recognized him. “Hey!” she called. “That’s the guy I cut earlier to get the last orange juice.” Jessie drew in a deep breath and swallowed hard. “Yes,” she replied. “And he’s angry at you for doing that.” The junior nurse was quiet at first. But then she smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I bet he’s over it now! And if he isn’t, I’ll just explain myself!” Then, Dee freed herself from her friend’s grasp and walked over to the director. Jaks and Jessie became worried again. “That’s what we were afraid of.” the head nurse mumbled.

A few seconds later, Derdra returned to her friends crushed. “He just turned me away!” she replied. “My career’s ruined!” Right then, Jacilyn and Jessie knew what they had to do. After minutes of talking to the director, (and Gail threatening him as with blackmail), Derdra finally got her chance to be interviewed. While they waited, Hughes asked the nurses, “So what have we learned here today, ladies?” Jessie, Jaks, and Daphine looked at each other smiling. Then they answered, “Nothing!” *Sweat drop on Hughes’s head* “They are hopeless!” he thought in distress. Then he sighed aloud.
