Playboy Mama:

Simone’s Notes:

Is it wrong to fall in love with a comatose patient’s spouse? The spouse is lonely and misses their love touching and holding them in the long nights. Then, the right person comes along and sweeps them off of their feet so to speak. But, the spouse is still married to patient. So in a sense it is adultery. But what if the patient dies from their coma? It all depends on the end result. Media always has fun with drama scene. But is it all really tragic in the end?

Second lieutenant Derek Bailey and Major Nathan Lee walked through the hospital on the same day Madeline got her test results back. They went to go check on Major General Jason Salter. He was in a car accident seven months ago while visiting some friends in Central and admitted to St. Mary’s Touch. He had been in a coma ever since. Doubt of Salter waking up again was growing bigger and bigger. Derek tried to keep optimism about things, but that was soon to change today! The boys made it to General Salter’s room when the lieutenant saw her! There was a woman in the room with the general washing his face. Derek couldn’t take his eyes off of her. The woman dark brown hair to her shoulders had him locked in a daze. Then, the woman slowly turned to leave. Derek was now in a complete love-daze. This was a goddess in human flesh. Her eyes were a lovely cool green. She had the body of a curvy playboy bunny. Her pink halter top showcased her natural shapely breasts and her black Capri jeans showed off her hips, bum, and shapely legs. Her light lip gloss and make-up was perfectly done. The emerald drop earrings completed her look perfectly well. The lt. had fallen for her hard and fast. Even her hair smelt great with sweet jasmines and mandarin oranges as she walked by the men. Derek wanted to hit on her and get her on a date with him. “Hello?” a voice asked him. “Sir?” The lt. quickly looked down. Nathan was tugging at him to call his attention.

“Huh?” Derek asked. “Are you okay, man?” the major asked. The lt. paused for a moment. “Uh… yeah, I’m great!” he replied quickly. “But who was that with General Salter?” Nathan smiled tenderly at his buddy. “That was his yummylicous wife, Erin.” he answered in pride. “They had been married for seven years and have one son together. The guys keep talking how lonely she is without her husband.” “I would imagine so…” Derek trailed off happily. Nathan’s face became serious. “Dude!” he said quickly. “You’re not thinking to…” The lt. smiled at him. “Why can’t I take her out for a drink at least?” he asked. “But she’s married and her husband’s in a coma!” Lee protested. “So?” his pal asked. “How old is Alli Beardsley again?” Nathan went quiet. “Good point,” he said softly. Derek smiled again. “My thoughts exactly!” he concluded. Then, he walked down the hall after his prize. The major watched after him nervously. “Be careful, dude!” he thought.

Derek found Erin in the hospital cafeteria. She was sitting at a table by herself crying. The lt. felt great sympathy for her. He walked over to her confidently. Bailey made it over to her table. Erin slowly looked up at him with great tears in her eyes. Derek smiled at her sweetly. “Is this seat taken?” he asked. Erin shook her head sadly. “Okay,” Derek replied. “May I sit down with you?” Erin nodded as she sobbed. The lt. smiled as he sat down. “I’m sorry for your husband,” he said at last. “I know,” the wife said softly. Bailey lightly brushed a loose strand away her face. Erin was truly a beautiful woman to behold. The lt. found himself feeling jealous about Jason being married to her for seven years. “My husband was a loving man,” Erin spoke up. “He was good to me. He was also great to our son, Dylan.” “I’ll bet he was!” Derek replied. He began lightly holding her small soft hand. “Dylan misses his father so much!” she went on. “I know,” the lt. whispered. “Do you want to talk about over drinks tonight?” Erin looked at him with those sweet cool green eyes of hers. “Are you… asking me out?” she asked in shock. “Not really,” the lt. answered. “You seemed down and I thought you could use a little break for a change.” The wife thought about that for a moment. Then she said, “Sure.” Derek smiled his charming smile at her. “Great,” he replied. “I’ll see you at eight tonight.” Then, the lt. got up and left. Erin kept watching him with light pink cheeks. Bailey had worked his charm upon her.

“Come on, baby!” Don pleaded to Jessie once again. “Why not?” He was processed on his get back his girlfriend and son plan. So far, he was failing miserably. Jessie just kept saying no. The nurse rolled her eyes again. “Because,” she began harshly. “We are over! We have been over for a year now! Get over it!” “But, we don’t have to be!” Don suggested. “Sammy needs his father around!” Jessie whipped around to him at that statement. Don was smiling innocently at her. The nurse wanted to throw up in his face. “Why do you always bring my son into this?” she snapped. “He’s our son!” the lt. corrected. “I just want to be with you and Sammy!” The nurse rolled her eyes and walked off. Don stood there crushed. Derek walked up next to him. “How is the family reunion?” he asked. Mitchell sighed as he turned to Bailey. Derek had his answer. “Not good, eh?” he asked. “She was never this cold,” the lt. replied. Don noticed his pal’s shining glow. “Why are you so happy?” he asked. Derek kept on smiling. “Just met Erin Salter!” he announced. Don smiled back in pride. “What a babe, right?” he asked. “Yep!” Derek agreed. “I asked her out for drinks.” The other lt.’s face dropped at that last statement. “Dude, her husband in a coma!” he reminded him. “I know,” Derek replied. “All the more to take her out.” “But her husband is in a coma” the other lt. reminded him. “I know that!” his pal replied. Then, Derek walked away. Don watched him leave. “He just doesn’t get it!” he thought in disappointment. Then, the lt. went to chase after his baby momma again.

That evening, Derek was at home dressing himself up nice to go out with Erin. “You look nice!” Addi said to him as he was fixing his hair in the mirror. “Going out somewhere?” “Yep!” her brother answered. “I’m going out for drinks with Erin Salter!” Addi frowned. “You know her husband’s in a coma, right?” “Yeah, so?” her older brother asked. Addi walked closer. “Isn’t that a bit tacky?” she asked. Derek turned to him frowning. “Why should it be?” he asked. “We are just having a friendly drink together.” “Oh but that’s how it all starts,” his sister spoke up. “Then, you go on more dates, you meet each others friends and family, and pretty soon, you two are sleeping together on virtually every surface that you find!” Derek just rolled his eyes at his sister again. “You finished yet?” he asked. “I have a friend to drink with!” Then, the lt. stormed out of the house. Addi rolled her eyes to herself. “It’s going to end ugly!” she thought. Then, she went upstairs to her room.

Derek made his way to the local juice bar. He found Erin sitting at the bar waiting. She was wearing a beautiful loose pink dress with thin straps, pink kitten heels, and a matching flower in her hair. She had bought her drink already. The lt. smiled and walked over to her. Erin looked up and saw him. The man stopped and smiled politely. “Hello there!” the wife called. “Hi!” Derek replied. “Mind if I sit down?” “No, go ahead!” Erin replied. The lt. did so quickly. Then, he ordered himself a juice cocktail. “It’s strange,” Erin spoke up. “A complete and nice stranger taking a comatose man’s wife out for a drink. It’s nuts.” “I know,” the lt. said as he got his drink. Then, he turned back to his date. “My name is Derek Bailey,” he said. “See there? We aren’t strangers anymore.” Erin smiled sweetly at him. “I guess we aren’t.” she replied.

The pair spent the night talking and joking around like old friends. Derek noticed how beautiful Erin was getting every second. He really wanted her. How can this fiery angel go seven months without sex? He could tell she was really lonely. Erin needed to be held. Erin needed to be kissed. Erin needed love. Derek wanted to show her all that she had been missing for months. But, what about Jason? He’s in coma, so what did it matter what he thought? But what if he woke up? How could life go back to normal if she had an affair with the lt.? But what if Jason died? How could Erin and Dylan adjust to a new life without the man they had known for seven years? Would Dylan adjust to having the lt. as his potential step dad? Would Addi and Alessa adjust to see Erin and Dylan in their lives everyday? What would the others think about him and Erin dating?

“Derek?” the lt. heard someone ask. He quickly returned to his head. Erin was looking right at him. “Are you okay?” she asked. Derek looked at those beautiful cool green eyes of hers. “Nothing,” he answered. “Alright.” Erin replied. Silence passed between them for a moment. “Hey Erin,” Derek spoke up. “Hm?” the wife asked. The lt. drew in a deep breath. “Do you ever worry about your future?” he asked boldly. Erin looked at him concerned at first. “What do you mean?” she asked. Derek shut his eyes and drew in a deep breath. “Do you worry about what will happen if your husband dies or wakes up? I mean, what if you fall in love with someone else now? How will Dylan deal with everything?” he verified. He paused and shook his head. Erin smiled in sympathy at him. “Aw,” she said at last. “I try not to think about those things and survive.” The lt. began to relax slowly. Part one was finished. Now, it was time to finish. “I like you,” he said at last. Erin stared at him in slight shock. “What?” she asked. Derek swallowed hard. “I really like you!” he repeated. “I want to take you out on a few dates here and there. I know it’s inappropriate at this time, but I just have to say it!”

The lt. felt sick for saying it. “There, I say it!” he thought. “If she likes me, that’s great! If not, then oh well! Move onto the next chick!” Erin reached forward and lightly touched him on the cheek. “That’s sweet,” she replied. “I like you too, but I think it’s best that we took things slow first and got to know each other.” Derek nodded at her. “You’re right,” he said. “It would be foolish to rush into things!” “Yes!” Erin agreed with a smile. Then, she leaned forward and kissed him on the lips. Derek was pleasantly surprised by this reaction. He kissed her back sweetly. Right then, the lt. knew how she felt about him. Erin wanted him just as much as he did. She was ready to start again with him. Erin actually loved him too! For the first time in his life, the lt. hoped that Jason would bite the dust already. Okay, that was wrong, but it was true.

At long last, they broke away. Erin and Derek stared in each other’s eyes for a long while. “How was that?” Erin asked. “Great!” the lt. said quickly. The wife smiled at him. “So,” she said at last. “I’ll see you around then.” Derek smiled at her. “Friday, it is then?” he asked. “Absolutely!” the wife replied. “Shall I walk you home, then?” the lt. asked. “Sure,” Erin spoke up. “I would love that!” Then, they kissed again and left the bar together. This was to be the start of a passionate romance and a heavy battle with society.
