Pillow Book:

Simone’s Notes:

The content of pillow talk typically includes the sexual act itself, stories and confessions, expressions of affection and appreciation, and playful humor. Pillow talk is conventionally seen as an opportunity for spies to obtain secret information. In espionage, a "honeypot is a trap that uses sex to lure an enemy agent into disclosing classified information" Christine Keeler is said to have used this approach in the Cold War-era Profumo Affair. The Profumo affair was a British political scandal that originated with a brief sexual liaison in 1961 between John Profumo, the Secretary of State for War in Harold Macmillan's government, and Christine Keeler, a 19-year-old would-be model. When the Profumo–Keeler affair was first revealed, public interest was heightened by reports that Keeler may have been simultaneously involved with Captain Yevgeny Ivanov, a Soviet naval attaché, thereby creating a possible security risk.

Daisy turned to Jim in bed. “Jimmy.”

“Yeah?” Jim asked.

“Are we going to be okay?”

Her husband gave her an odd look. “Why?”

Daisy shrugged and shook her head. Jim patted her on the head.

“Yes, we will be fine.”

“How can you be so sure?”

Jim drew his mouth closed. Lately, things didn’t feel right. Sure everything looked the same on the surface, but the soldier couldn’t help but get that icky feeling crawling over his skin. He couldn’t get the taste of vice out of his mouth. He grabbed onto his wife’s hand.

“Baby?” Daisy asked.

“I’m going to be honest with you,” Jim said. “Something isn’t right here.”

“What do you mean?”

Jim kissed her on the forehead. “I don’t know how to explain it.”

She cuddled up to his chest. “I think I know what you mean.”

Her husband looked down with a startled expression on his face. “Daisy?”

“The ladies at the club can see it too. Dahlia and her baby are still doing fine, though.”

Jim raised an eyebrow. “Why would you say that?”

“I don’t really know.”

“Do you want kids?”

“Excuse me.”

Jim lay on his back. “I don’t know. You used to annoy me about it. Do you still want children?”

“Do you?”

“If you want to.”

Daisy climbed on top. “Alright, we’ll have a baby.”

“Okay. When?”

“Now!”

Jim’s eyes shot wide open. “Now?”

“Yes!”

He gently pushed her upwards. “Slow down there, baby! I want to rest for tonight. You really wore me out.”

His wife pouted. “Tomorrow night then?”

Jim chuckled and gave her a little kiss on her lips. “Okay.”

Daisy kissed him back. “I love you.”

He patted her on the head. “I love you too, baby.” The morning won’t be so sweet and easy as their pillow talk.
