May I Have Another?:

Simone’s Notes:

A common love triangle is one in which the hero or heroine is torn between two suitors of radically contrasting personalities; one of a “girl next door” or “nice guy” type, and the other as a physically attractive but potentially dangerous person. Alternatively, the hero or heroine has a choice between a seemingly perfect lover and an imperfect but endearing person. In this case, the "too-good-to-be-true" person is often revealed to have a significant flaw, such as hidden insensitivity or lecherousness, causing the other person to become the more desirable partner.

Alphonse still had his mind on yesterday and the day before when he heard heavy metal blaring from outside. Annoyed, he rose from the lobby desk and wandered out to the inn garden. He found Bev lying on the ground with a mini-stereo turned up to highest volume. “Hey!” Al yelled to her. The girl didn’t respond to him. “Hey!!!” Alphonse yelled again. No answer. “HEY!!!” the boy tried again. The girl didn’t even budge. Fed up with the loud pounding from the speakers, Al walked over to the stereo and cut it off. That caught Bev’s attention. She quickly sat up and stared dead at him. “I was listening to that!” she snapped. Al kept his face at her. “You had it too loud!” he pointed out. “I couldn’t get your attention by shouting at you, so I turned it off!” Bev wasn’t listening to a single word that was coming out of his mouth! “Damn, he’s hot!” she thought. “A little too innocent for my taste, but that can be fixed. I’ll have him begging for more when I get through with him!” “Are you listening to me?” Al asked to call back her attention. Bev looked at him. “Uh…” she said. “Yeah. I’ll keep the music down, I guess.” Alphonse kept looking her unconvinced. “Okay…” he replied. “Just keep it down, alright?” Bev nodded sweetly with fake innocently. Al smiled at her. “Alright,” he said. Then, the boy went back inside. Bev watched after him smiling. She now had a new hobby.

Bev decided to follow Al around to learn more about this charming angel. Even though she had just met the rest of the Dark Moons, she could definitely tell this boy was Ed’s younger brother. This was the first good boy she had fallen for. Usually, she chased after the thugs and rockers. But, she decided to do something different for once. The girl couldn’t wait to shape him into her perfect toy. She just wanted to teach him some new tricks in bed. She could tell this would be an easy yet rewarding conquest. But yet, Al had another bidder for his heart. Bev followed her prey to a small café. She found Alphonse sitting at a table outside, but he wasn’t alone! The rocker girl found her prey sitting with Amy. They were both laughing and enjoying the day. That presented a problem to Bev. She wanted to be top cat in Al’s heart. This would not do! It was time to act!

So, the rocker girl walked over to the table where the couple was and loudly cleared her throat. Amy and Alphonse quickly looked up. Bev stood there smiling at them. “Hello everybody!” she called loudly. Al and Amy looked at her confused. “Uh, Alphonse?” Amy asked. “Who the hell is this?” The rocker girl kept smiling at the couple. “Now to work the charm!” she thought in victory. “I am Bev Vincent!” the rocker girl replied. “And I believe you have my man with you!” Amy glared at her boy-toy. “Is this true?” she asked. “No…” Al answered uneasily. “I see…” his girl said in a low voice. Then, she turned back to Bev. “Uh Bev,” Amy spoke up as she stood to her feet. “May I have a word with you in private?” “Sure!” the rocker girl called. Then, the schoolgirl grabbed her new rival by the arm and dragged her into the café to the ladies’ room.

Al just sat there and watched them leave. He was trying to piece together what just happened. First, Amy sleeps with him and charms him to stay with her. Now, Bev is trying to seduce him into her arms. They only met this morning. So why is she after him all of a sudden? This was too much to take it. He had two chicks after him. “How is this happening?” he thought. “Can I even handle them both?” But that was just the tip of the iceberg. Al leaned back in his chair and put his hand in his pocket. He froze for a quick moment. There was something in his pants pocket. Curious to know what it was, Alphonse slowly pulled it out. It was a folded up piece of paper. The boy quickly unfolded it and looked inside. There was a message written right in the center of it. Here is what the message said:

I Like You

Bev

This really blew the boy away! Did she really mean it or was this some sort of a joke? He decided to confront Bev about it later when he got back to the Clover Inn.

Amy dragged Bev into the girls’ bathroom. The rocker girl eyed her in irritated puzzlement. “What the hell is this about?” she asked annoyed. Amy glared at her new rival coldly. She too was determined to be top cat in Alphonse’s heart. There was no way she was stepping down for some common whore like Bev! “And what the hell are you trying to pull?!?” she barked. The rocker girl smiled at her. She was trying not to laugh at the schoolgirl. “Just claiming what is mine,” she answered. That didn’t sit well with Amy. “Alphonse is my boyfriend!” she barked. “I slept with him first!” “So?” Bev asked. “That doesn’t mean I still have a chance to claim him for myself.” The schoolgirl saw what her rival was hinting at. “Oh I see,” she said wisely. “I know what you’re getting at! You want to compete with me for Al! Well, okay. I’ll happily battle with you for his heart. But, I am doing it the mature way!” “Right,” Bev said. “And how do you plan to do that?” “A cat fight is a waste of my energy and time!” Amy went on. “I prefer wooing him with romance and a little sex on the side! I am above back-stabbing and name-calling!” “Uh-huh!” her rival barked. “And how can I trust that you’ll fight fair?” “Oh trust me,” Amy went on. “I will fight fair!” Bev smirked at her doubtfully. “Okay,” she said. “I’ll take your word for it, but I’ll watch my back around you!” The schoolgirl smiled at her. “Thank you for your time!” she replied. Then, Amy turned and walked away gracefully. Bev smirked at her rival in pride. “And no cheating!!!” Amy yelled to her before heading out the door. Then, the door slammed shut. Bev leaned up against the sinks grinning to herself. “Well, well!” she thought. “Looks like I am going to enjoy this hunt after all!” Then, Bev walked out of the bathroom as well. The Amy-Al-Bev triangle was up and running as planned.
