Love Camp:

Simone’s Notes:

Guilt can sometimes be remedied by: punishment, forgiveness, making amends, or sincere remorse. Guilt can also be remedied through intellectualization or cognition. Law does not usually accept the agent's self-punishment, but some ancient codes did: in Athens, the accused could propose their own remedy, which could, in fact, be a reward, while the accuser proposed another, and the jury chose something in-between. This forced the accused to effectively bet on his support in the community, as Socrates did when he proposed "room and board in the town hall" as his fate. He lost, and drank hemlock, a poison, as advised by his accuser.

The angels sang again:
They weep
They weep bitterly
Day and night
Night and day
But no one hears them
Their cries go unnoticed
But, how is this possible?
Nobody sees them
Why is that?
They are all underground.

The Fallen Ones have trapped them there
It’s always dark
It’s not cold, mind you
Far from it
The place burns worse than hell
It’s amazing they don’t die from the heat alone
But, they suffer and die in this prison camp
No one hears them.

Their blood drowns the air
Many feel like throwing up
They can’t however,
The monsters are always watching
Waiting to inflict pain
Hungry for violence
The pets can’t win
If they play by the rules,
They are beaten
If they try to fight back,
It is worse
No one hears them

Two of the pets died last night
They weren’t even given a proper burial
Just thrown out like garbage
Faceless, nameless garbage
The military found them
They sleep in the morgue now
This all could have been prevented
But, no one heard them

Will they ever be heard?
Will somebody come and save them?
Will there be any hope for them?
Alas, there is one pet still locked away with no voice
Locked away in his own head…

XXXVIII:

Icy drips. Alex’s eyes moved all around. The hairs on his neck stood up straight. Cold prickles danced along his limbs like little ants walking up and down them. Alex scanned his surroundings dead hard to keep what was left of his sanity. Once again, the boy was in no one that he could even hope to place. The lamb did feel like he was standing, somehow. He tried to move any part of his body, but found that he was numb and paralyzed from the eyes down. The thoughts in his brain were still working.

Where is this place now?” he thought. Suddenly, a burning buzz flared in his eyes. His eyes widened startled. Heat floated all over his skin. Alex could see many blinding flashes before him. They seemed to be sending him some sort of a code that he couldn’t make out. The noise flared in his ears again. He shut his eyes as tightly as he could. His insides churned away in his head.

The buzz didn’t stay consistent either. It would soften at first and spring wildly to his numb spine. “What they doing to me now?” he thought. Alex tried in vain to piece together this circle he was held in. Every time he came close to an answer, the buzz would get so loud that he feel the vibrations to the core of his bones. He slowed down his breathing to calm himself down. That didn’t help him either. The buzz flared louder after that. Alex just kept his eyes closed afterwards. He didn’t know how much more he could take. “Stop it!” he pleaded in his head. “Make it stop! Make it stop!” The last buzz was so strong that it painted everything black inside his eyes.
