Hotel Aphrodite:

Simone’s Notes:

Date rape, also called acquaintance rape, is a non-domestic rape committed by someone who knows the victim. This constitutes the vast majority of rapes reported. It can occur between two people who know one another usually in social situations, between people who are dating as a couple and have had consensual sex in the past, between two people who are starting to date, between people who are just friends, and between acquaintances. They include rapes of co-workers, schoolmates, friends, and other acquaintances.

Mustang and Hughes stared at the message on the mirror.

“What could it mean?” Hughes whispered.

“I don’t know,” Roy whispered back. Then, their cell phones rang. The men quickly answered them.

“Hello?” they asked. The conversation didn’t last long. The men turned and looked at each other.

“We got another body,” Hughes said. Mustang nodded.

“Right,” he said.

“So what should we do with him?” his pal asked as he looked over at the body in the living room. The flame alchemist looked on with him.

“Let’s have Havoc and Hawkeye-Riis stay with him and Mrs. Ashcroft until Price and Brandon get here,” he answered. Hughes nodded.

“Right,” he said. The men left the bathroom to their other two comrades. Havoc and Hawkeye-Riis looked up right away.

“Well sir?” Havoc asked. Mustang stepped forward.

“We got another call that they have found another body,” he said. “Stay here with the victim until Brandon gets here, okay?” Both lieutenant and captain saluted at that order.

“Yes sir!” they said. Mustang and Hughes left the apartment to tend to the other body. Havoc and Hawkeye-Riis stayed with the Mrs. Ashcroft in the living room. The landlady paced around a bit. She looked at the two officers.

“There once lived a tenant in this very apartment complex,” the landlady spoke up. Hawkeye-Riis and Havoc both looked up.

“Hm?” the captain asked. Mrs. Ashcroft shuffled a little bit.

“Yes,” she went on. “Eliza Day. You remember? From the papers?” The soldiers looked on confused for a brief moment. Havoc slowly caught on.

“Oh yeah!” he said. “I remember that case. We still haven’t found who her killer was.” The landlady sighed and shook her head.

“Such a shame,” she said. “Eliza was such a bright and beautiful woman. She reminded me of myself at that age.” Mrs. Ashcroft leaned against the back wall.

“Eliza brought everybody joy,” she spoke again. “She had just graduated from high school. She had moved out of her house in the North and came here to Central. That angel was barely making ends meet. So, she worked at the Hotel Aphrodite.” The landlady sneered at her own words.

“That place was just filth. It bled Eliza dry of her innocence. Why would a bright girl like her be that desperate for money to come and work at a… sex hotel!” Mrs. Ashcroft gritted her teeth tightly as she forced herself to calm down. Havoc shrugged at her a little bit.

“She just graduated from high school and didn’t have any other experience.” Mrs. Ashcroft looked at the lt. sternly.

“Still, she could have worked at a restaurant as a waitress or something. Just not that place!” She sighed out loud in frustration.

“Do forgive me. I just hate seeing an innocent life destroyed and taken.” Mrs. Ashcroft took in another deep breath. “It’s just so frustrating. One of those pervs from that sex hotel where she worked did it, you know. Eliza was walking home with her friend, Melissa, when he came and grabbed Eliza. He raped and killed her on the saw. Many people saw it and did nothing. They said nothing to the police. All this time, the killer got away just to kill again.” Mrs. Ashcroft gritted her teeth to try and keep herself calm again.

“It just all makes me mad!” Riza lightly patted her on the shoulder.

“There, there,” she whispered. “Once more officers come to the scene, I’ll take you back to your apartment and make you some tea, okay?” The landlady nodded.

“Yes, that would be great,” she whispered. Hawkeye-Riis gave her a look smile. Mrs. Ashcroft looked at the captain’s belly.

“So when are you due?” she asked.

“Four months,” the captain said.

“Ah, I see!” the landlady replied. As the women talked on, Havoc started to have a bad feeling about good old Mrs. Ashcroft. Something seemed rather off about her. He decided to keep a close on her until Brandon could arrived. “She’s up to something!” Havoc thought. Oh, he has no idea had right he was!
