Honor for Love:

Simone’s Notes:

Adultery is also referred to as extramarital sex, philandary, or infidelity, but does not include fornication. The term "adultery" for many people carries a moral or religious association, while the term "extramarital sex" is morally or judgmentally neutral. The interaction between laws on adultery with those on rape has and does pose particular problems in societies that are especially sensitive to sexual relations by a married woman, such as some Muslim countries. The difference between the offenses is that adultery is voluntary, while rape is not. The term adultery has a Judeo-Christian origin, though the concept of marital fidelity predates Judaism and is found in many other societies. Though the definition and consequences vary between religions, cultures, and legal jurisdictions, the concept is similar in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and Hinduism has a similar concept. But the word should be used cautiously when discussing various cultures, some of which permit less permanent forms of marriage, or even sexual "lending."

Damon had a problem. It had mostly to do with his love life. He was married to Carol, but yet he was cheating on her once again. Who was the guilty woman this time? Her name was Ginny Manson. She was a nineteen year old Catholic girl. They got together when she was mourning the loss of her friend, Kate. From there, it was history. A very smutty history just to be frank. Like most affairs, there was a strong element of shame to it. Damon was feeling it every day when he was with Ginny. He knew what he was doing was wrong. But, he just couldn’t stop. Ai-Oni’s poison in him had become come back to life again. It wouldn’t be long before, Damon would want more and cheat on Ginny as well. Then, it would all fall to pieces.

The destruction began three weeks ago. Damon was sitting alone at Tanya’s grave. He was putting more lilies on the small grave. Tears were streaming down his face. It had been so long, but the reality was still painful. The colonel’s heart ached inside. But grieve was going to be the least of his problems soon.

Within seconds, Damon noticed a shadow standing over him. He froze in bitter anger. He didn’t have to look up to see who it was.

“What do you want now, Manami?” he asked.

“Aww,” the fallen princess said aloud. “Why so angry?” Damon whipped around in a flash!

“F**k you, bitch!” he hissed. The fallen princess looked crushed at that statement.

“Aww, Damon!” she said. “Such a nasty thing to say to a lady. What would Tanya think if she heard you using such language?” That made the man even angrier.

“Don’t you dare drag Tanya into this!!!” he snapped. “She is sacred to me!!!” Manami smirked at him coldly. She was trying not to laugh. Damon noticed right away.

“What the hell is so damn funny?!?” he snapped at him. The fallen princess looked at him innocently.

“Sacred, huh?” she asked. “Like Carol is?” That only made things just as worse.

“Don’t you dare refer to my wife in a bad way! You hear?!?” Sanders shouted out. Manami kept her innocent-naughty face.

“I’m just saying,” she said. Damon glared at her crossly.

“And what’s that supposed to mean?” he hissed. The fallen princess shrugged at him lightly.

“Oh I don’t know,” she said. “Just that it’s funny that you claim that Carol is so sacred to you, but yet you’re cheating on her with a nineteen-year-old girl.” Damon went quiet at that one. It was true. He was cheating on Carol with a younger girl. The colonel shut his eyes tightly to force the thought out of his mind. Manami smiled wickedly at her growing work. Damon was so fun to bend at times. Sure, he wasn’t an incubus just yet. But, he was just as fun to play with. Then, an idea came into her head.

“Tell me something, Damon,” she spoke up. The man looked right up at the dark mistress. Manami smirked at him coldly. The question was to be a bombshell and slap in the face to him.

“Does Ginny even know that you are married?” she asked bluntly. Damon’s eyes grew big in shock. He was badly choked up in silence. Manami smirked at his reaction. She was winning this game too easily. Maybe too boring as well. Oh well, better to keep on than to lose him in boredom.

“Oh!” the fallen princess called out. “She doesn’t know the truth!” Damon was really in a panic now. He was really trapped now. Manami stepped forward boldly.

“Ah!” she called out. “I see. But I have another question you.”

“What?!?” he asked aloud. “What could you possibly want to know now?” Manami shrugged at him again. Damon was now getting annoyed now.

“Tell me!” he shouted. “TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CAROL AND GINNY SO BADLY!!!” The fallen princess smirked again.

“Who do you love more?” she asked. Damon froze up in shock.

“WHAT?!?” he asked. Manami smiled at him wickedly. She had him now.

“Who do you love more?” she asked again. “Or do you love them both equally?” Damon really wasn’t expecting that one. He was at a loss for words there. He had to fight back somehow or become Manami’s personal bitch to toy with whenever he wants. At last, the man hung his head in shame.

“Both,” he mumbled to himself. Manami leaned in close to him.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “I couldn’t quite hear you there. Could you repeat that?”

“Both,” Sanders said a little louder. The fallen princess still wasn’t satisfied.

“What?” she asked. “I still can’t hear you.” Damon was really pissed off now. He was still trying to fight back, but he was still losing in the end. The colonel had no choice but to admit defeat now.

“Both!!!!” he yelled out. “I LOVE THEM BOTH EQUALLY!!!” Manami smiled at him wickedly.

“But how?” she challenged him. Damon looked away again. The fallen princess smirked at him once again. She knew the answer already.

“Trying to love two people with honor, huh?” she asked him sharply. Damon looked up at her quickly. He knew that he was screwed now. She’s really got him! Manami added in the final steaks.

“You know it’s going to fail in the end, right?” she asked. Damon looked at her with big eyes.

“What?” he asked her confused. Manami kept her smile as she shrugged again.

“I mean come on now,” she said. “Loving two people at once in an honorable way is a lie! It’ll never work in the end.” Damon got pissed off once again.

“You don’t know that!!!” he shouted out. “I could do it!” Manami just laughed at him.

“Yeah Damon,” she said. “Keep telling yourself that!” Then, she walked out of the cemetery. Damon was left standing there in silence. Doubt filled him up pretty quickly. “What if she’s right?” he thought in worry. “What if it all backfires on me in the end?” Then, Damon shook his head hard. “No!” he thought. “I can’t let her get to me like this! I have to at least try to fight back! I have to!” But then, Damon froze up at that motivating thought. “But can I actually do it?” he asked himself. Then, the colonel found himself back where he started. This battle was getting harder by the second.

Manami walked into town. She wasn’t done just yet. The fallen princess had plans for Damon. You see, toying with him just wasn’t enough anymore. She wanted to make her into his little pet. However, a couple little obstacles stood in her way from that goal. Carol was the first problem. She was determined to stay by him until the very end. There seemed to be no way to break them up. Or at least at first anyway. Manami would have to really work at it to find a way. Then, there was Ginny. She too was just like Carol in staying with the poor sick man. But Ginny was much easier to fix than Carol was. All she needed was to know the truth. That took some time. Lucky for her, Manami grew into a patient woman. Sure she was still impulsive, but she had grown more skilled now. She was planning much better now. Today would be the best test for that improvement.

Hunter, Mikey, and Jakob sat around in the lobby of the apartment complex plotting how to break up Ginny and Damon before it was too late. At first, they all thought it was just a fling. They would just get tired of each other over time and break up. But this relationship had been going on for months now. This wasn’t healthy at all. Ginny had become too laid back for too long. She wasn’t her usual mothering self that they had known throughout high school. She needed to come back now. Damon had ruined the once pure and proud Catholic girl. It was time to step in and break it up. But how?

“What all do we know about Damon?” Mikey asked the other two. Hunter just shrugged.

“Dunno,” he said. “He’s in the military, that’s all we know.”

“Well,” the gay boy said. “That’s a start.” Jakob and Hunter looked at him confused.

“What?” Jakob asked. “What do you mean?”

“Well think about,” his best friend spoke up. “You’re married to a captain, Jak. And Hunter you’re dating a master sergeant…” The boys quickly perked up.

“Oh!” the Irish boy said aloud. “I see!” Mikey nodded at him smiling.

“Exactly!” he said. The mouse looked up at him in silence.

“Is that even legal?” he asked.

“Yeah!” his friend said. “You are just asking about one of their co-workers. That’s all.” The boys considered this for a while. Then, they reached a verdict.

“All right!” Jakob up said. “Anything to bring Ginny back to her senses again.”

“It’s worth a shot!” Hunter replied. “Gin needs to get back with reality and fast!” Mikey clapped his hands together tightly.

“Okay!” he said. “That’s settled then. We’ll talk to Addi and Riza this afternoon!”

“Yeah!” the boys agreed.

Meanwhile, Ginny was in the graveyard making a visit of her own. It had been over a year since Kate died. Her parents still believed her to be missing. Some of the students that graduated with Ginny and the boys were even whispering that Kate was raped and murdered by now. Gin would get angry when she would hear that. They weren’t there. None of them were. Kate threw away her life for what? A demonic baby that grew up and destroying life for humans as they knew it. Ginny tried her best to fight back her tears. Kate made her decision. Now, they were all paying for it. Gin sat back on her knees in misery. She never wanted Damon to see her like this at all. He had heavy baggage and so did she. Heavy baggage together was never good. But then, something even worse came along.

Ginny felt a shadow cast over her. She slowly froze and turned around. Manami was standing over her dressed in black. She had a veil of her lovely face. Ginny looked at her slightly confused.

“Uh…” she said to the fallen princess. “Can I help you?” Manami kept her sad look.

“I’m just like you and visiting my mother’s grave,” she replied. That took a little while for it to sink in. Suddenly, a light bulb went off into Ginny’s head. This lady was Kate’s daughter all grown up. This was the lady that Kate gave up her life for. She tried her best to keep her sick down. Manami looked at her in silence.

“Is there something wrong?” she asked. The Catholic girl tried her best not to scream out.

“It’s you!” she shrieked in a high-pitched voice.

“I’m sorry?” the fallen princess asked. The girl quickly turned back to the small grave.

“You’re Kate’s daughter, aren’t you?” she asked in a choked up voice.

“I guess I am,” Manami said. “Though, I don’t know much about her.” Ginny kept her back to her. This was just cruel fate mocking her now. Was God testing her?

“Did I… come at a bad time?” Manami asked.

“No, no!” Ginny blurted out. “I was just about to leave actually.”

“Aw, what a shame!” Manami said. “I was hoping that you could tell me something about my mother.” Ginny froze up again.

“Why?” she asked in a low voice. Manami looked over her shoulder at the grave.

“I just wanted to know her,” she replied. Ginny fought back more tears again.

“What’s there to say?” she asked. “Kate was a great and nice girl. She was my best friend. I don’t really have anything for you. Nothing to spare.” Manami looked on in fake sorrow. She knelt down to the Catholic girl and gently put her arm around her.

“Come on,” she whispered. “You and I are the same. We both lost a person that we loved dearly.” Ginny had had enough by then. She shoved Manami away as fast as she could.

“No, we are not!” she snapped. “You are just sick and corrupt! I bet you don’t even miss Kate at all! Don’t you ever f*****g desecrate her memory like that!” Manami rose to her feet smirking.

“I was only trying to offer my condolences to you!” she said in her true tone. “But since you sounded like a spoiled little bitch, I’ll go now!”

“Good!” Ginny said aloud as she shut her eyes tightly to keep back the tears of sorrow and anger. The fallen princess turned to leave, but froze.

“And you’re right!” she called. “You and I are not alike. You’re just a sad pathetic hypocritical Catholic prude! I bet you don’t know much about your boyfriend at all, do you?” Then, Manami walked away laughing in the beautiful afternoon. Ginny couldn’t take it anymore. She just broke down and cried on the spot. As ugly as that sounded, it was true. She hated her behavior of late. The more she slept with Damon, the more guilt that she felt afterwards. Come to think of it, most of her actions stemmed from her grief. She hadn’t been able to tell anybody what really happened to Kate. The mother lion and the boys have just kept it bottled up inside. But yet, they were doing much better than she was. Ginny felt so bad inside that she felt as if she would burst at any second. Something had to give and soon.

Something did give by the evening. It took place at the furher’s birthday party. All of the military and WAGs were invited. Everyone came as well. The night started off pleasant and joyful. But that wasn’t going to last very long at all. The boys had gathered up some interesting information about Damon Sanders.

“So,” Mikey said. “What did you find out about Mr. Dreamboat?” Jakob and Hunter looked really pale at that question.

“He’s married!” Hunter whispered quickly. Mikey looked slightly shocked at first.

“What?” he asked.

“He’s married,” Jakob explained. “Married with an eleven year old son.” Mike looked just as shocked as they were. His face went completely white.

“Oh well…” he managed to say at last. “We need to tell Ginny right away!”

“Tell me what?” a voice asked behind them. Jakob, Mikey, and Hunter whipped around quickly to see Ginny looking at them oddly.

“What’s going here?” she asked confused. The boys stood behind her in panicked silence. They knew they would have to tell her the truth soon. They just weren’t prepared to tell her the truth politely. Well, it was too late now. Mikey stepped forward.

“Ginny,” he said boldly. “There is something we have to tell you… about Damon…” The Catholic girl quickly became defensive.

“This shit again!” she barked. “I know that you all care, but Damon is a good guy and he loves me!” Hunter stepped forward this time.

“That’s the thing, lass,” he said. “Ask him about his wife and son…” That really pissed her off big time! She looked like she wanted to kill somebody now.

“I can’t believe you guys!” she barked. “Just because you guys are happy with your lovers, and Jakob you have a baby on the way, does not mean that I can’t be happy either!” The boys had serious looks on their faces. Ginny looked at all of them in doubt now.

“Oh my god!” she said to them. “You really aren’t joking, are you?” The boys kept silent again. That fired Ginny up even more. She stood up straighter.

“Fine!” she snapped. “I’ll ask him! But, I assure you that your accusations are false!” Then, she stormed right outside to the pool. With her luck, Damon was standing near the pool looking out at the water. His mind was elsewhere on Tanya and his growing guilt. It was all getting too much to bare. He was fighting a losing battle. Ginny smiled as she made her way over to him. The colonel looked up and saw her. A sad smile came across his face. Ginny was such a sweet and charming girl. She deserved to be with someone her own age and single. He couldn’t keep on like this at all. But he knew her to dull away the ever-present pain in his heart. He knew something be fixed again.

Ginny made her way over to him and hugged him happily.

“I missed you so much, baby!” she called happily. Damon hugged her back lightly.

“Yeah,” he mumbled. “So did I.” Then, he lightly kissed her on the top of her head. Then, it all started to fall down around them.

“Damon,” the girl said in a soft voice. The colonel looked down at her.

“Hm?” he asked her. His girlfriend looked up at her with innocent eyes.

“Are you married?” she asked him out of the blue. Damon froze up at that question. He wasn’t expecting that one. He was screwed now. The man just couldn’t lie to the girl he loved as much as his wife. Manami was right. Damon about to lose it all in seconds. The colonel looked away in guilt. Ginny’s face dropped into sorrow.

“You are, aren’t you?” she asked. Damon began to look really hurt.

“I’m so sorry…” he mumbled to her. That’s didn’t help at all. Ginny just kept pushing for more pain.

“And a son, huh?” she asked. Damon felt his stomach drop at that question. This was just getting worse by the minute. Ginny pushed him away at that silence. She was in deep misery now.

“Oh my god!” she gasped. Damon reached forward to her.

“I’m so sorry, Ginny…” he said. But, his now ex wouldn’t listen.

“No!” she said quickly. “I am so sorry for breaking up your family and stealing you away for myself!” Her former lover stepped forward and lightly grabbed her by the wrist.

“Ginny,” he said. “That’s not true. Just listen to me.” The Catholic kept trying to pull away the whole time. Damon kept trying to talk to her through the struggle.

“Ginny,” the colonel said. “I love you and I need you. Carol has been there for me for ten years. But I’ve hurt her one too many times. I need you. You make me better again! Please don’t leave me!” The girl still won’t listen. She just kept trying to get away.

“Let go. Let go. Let go of me please. Let go of me please.” she kept saying over and over again.

“Ginny!” Damon called. “I need you!” The Catholic girl managed to break away after a couple of minutes of escaping and walked away in tears. Damon reached out to her in sorrow.

“Ginny…” he mumbled softly.

“Damon!” the colonel heard behind him. The man whipped behind him and saw Carol looking at him with sorrow in her eyes. She wanted to know what was going on, but the words just wouldn’t come out of her mouth. Her husband felt even worse now. He was in worse trouble.

“Carol…” he said. Words failed him immediately. There was nothing he could say to explain himself out of this one. He was just stuck. There was only one way to fix this. The colonel walked over to his wife and lightly put his hands on his shoulders. Carol looked at him with sorrow in his eyes. Her husband took in a deep breath. Here goes. It was now or never.

“Carol,” he repeated. “We’ll talk when we get home.” The poor woman nodded with tears in his eyes. Damon lightly let go of her. Then, Carol walked back into the house. Damon watched her and walked away. The boys saw the whole thing from the inside. They didn’t know that this would cause so much damage. But it wasn’t over yet.

On the drive home, Damon came to a realization. He couldn’t heal himself properly if he was around Carol all of the time. He would just end up hurting her all over again. There was only one way to fix this. It wasn’t going to be pretty, but he had to do it for the sake of Carol and Micah. Otherwise, everyone would just loose in the end. He couldn’t afford that all over again.

Above, Manami was watching the whole thing as she was drinking sherry. All was going according to plan. Now, Damon would just have to leave Carol and he would be putty in her hands. The fallen princess took another sip. “Come join us, Damon!” she thought. “Freedom tastes so much better when it’s dirty!” Her laughter echoed loudly through the night.
