Hard to Break:

Simone’s Notes:

An addiction is a recurring compulsion by an individual to engage in some specific activity. The term is often reserved for drug addictions but it is sometimes applied to other compulsions, such as problem gambling, pornography, and compulsive overeating. Factors that have been suggested as causes of addiction include genetic, biological/pharmacological and social factors.

Yasmine wrapped up her blade tight in her jacket. Tonight, she was going to finish the job. She was going to kill Trent once and for all. The hunter shut her eyes for a moment. “I was get you back to normal, Malachi!” she thought. The hunter took in a deep breath and opened her eyes. She and Steven had talked about this earlier tonight. “Are you sure you want to do this?” he asked her in caution. “I must!” Yasmine answered him. “If I don’t, Malachi will forever be this way and Trent will keep chasing me down until I go insane again.” Steven held her close. “Just come back alive!” he whispered loudly to her. Yas tried to keep herself from crying. “I will, my love!” she whispered back. “I will!” Yasmine walked to the room of Malachi and Paul. Both were sleeping peacefully. Yasmine sighed again. “Good night boys!” she thought to them. “I promise to come home alive again!” Then, the hunter headed out the door to carry out her mission.

The night was long and cold. Yasmine had to force herself to keep walking at times. “No more nightmares!” she kept thinking to herself. Ever since she had escaped from Trent after her execution, she kept having nightmares about their past together. He constantly raped and abused her. Sure, Yas fought back at times, but it was in vain. That monster always had the upper-hand. Things became worse when she got pregnant. Trent was extra cruel to her. Tired of the mal-treatment, Yasmine faked her death and ran away. She met a nice farmer in the countryside and had an affair with him. Months later, her lover was killed and she was arrested for adultery and murder. Yasmine was torture severely by Trent and council after that. He even took Malachi out of her womb just so he could torture her himself. He then lied to her about him being dead so that he could keep the boy to himself. After she wouldn’t confess, the woman was tied to a cross to be burned to death. Before they could burn her, Trent walked over to her. He lightly took her by the cheeks and leaned in close so that he could get one last look at that face that made him want to beat her senseless. "Fare thee well, my love!" Trent whispered to her. Then, he lightly shared their last kiss together on the lips before stabbing her in the spleen with his dagger. She would’ve been dead if she hadn’t rescued there.

After that, she trained under Syd in order to kill Trent out of revenge. He too wanted the bastard dead and would stop at nothing until he was. Though Syd didn’t explain his reasons to her, Yasmine was willing to do anything to bring him the head of Trent! Her boss even gave his student the very blade she had this day. She had been having nightmares about Trent and her execution day ever since she escaped. Yasmine had been longing for this moment for a long time now. At long last, it was here! It was finally here!

I will not fail you boys!” Yasmine thought in ambition. She finally made it to his apartment. The hunter took in a deep breath and kicked open the front door. Trent was sitting on the sofa waiting for her. He was smirking at her coldly. “I know why you here!” he replied. “You want to kill me.” The beast slowly rose to his feet in front of her. “Well,” Trent went on. “Get to it! Here I am!” Yasmine’s anger shot up high. She quickly drew out her blade from her jacket. The hunter was about to attack when her ex held up his hand. “Hold on!” he called. “Not here! You don’t want to call attention, do you? Follow me!” Then, the monster headed out of the door. Yas glared at him coldly. She never did trust him, but he had a point for once. The hunter didn’t want to draw attention to her work. Too much of a hassle to clean up the mess afterwards. Best to take him outside. But then again, Trent was clever bastard. He was probably planning to torment her before killing her. But yet, she just couldn’t risk letting him go so easily. So, Yasmine followed the bastard to the outside.

They came into the dark woods above the city. When Yasmine looked around, Trent was nowhere in sight. The woman smirked at herself. “I knew he was going to pull this!” she thought. “This is just like him! He tries to lure me away from safety and try to kill me without warning.” Yasmine braced herself for the worst. “Remember,” she told herself. “Don’t let him get to you! That was years ago! You are much stronger now! You can take him on!” But then, Yasmine started to feel a crushing headache coming on. “AHHH!!!” she screamed out in pain. “Not again!” the hunter thought. “He’s using the Stone of Isis to torment me!” The pain was slowly growing. Yasmine tried to stand strong, but Trent was slowly winning out. The hunter slowly sank to her knees in pain. The pain was taking over her Yas shut her eyes in misery.

Trent stood above in the trees smiling at her wickedly. He was holding the Stone of the Isis over the forest. His weapon of choice was growing like a diamond in the sun. This was too entertaining for him beyond words. Seeing her suffer was his revenge for her not dying on that burning cross. “Yes, my dear!” the bastard thought. “It is happening again! Just like old times! Only this time, you won’t get away!” He held out the stone again, lightly touched it with his fingers, and began chanting softly to himself.

The hunter found herself in a black empty space. Black waves swirled around her wildly. Fear seized her fast. “No!” she thought. “Not again!” The bad memories started to come up again. The fights, the hiding, the anger, the fear, the tears… “No!” Yasmine thought strongly. “I have to fight this! Trent wants me in this state! I’ve got to rise above and fight him!” “Right!” a voice snapped at her. “Like all of the other times!” Yas slowly looked up. A dark shadowy figure was walking towards her. The woman was now too scared to move. “That’s a lie!!!” she screamed out. “How so?” the shadowy figure asked. “You allowed yourself to let Trent beat you until you were near death!” It then drew out a long blade and began slashing at Yas like a wild animal. The woman winced in deep pain. They were little slashes but they stung like crazy. The shadowy figure kept laughing. “That’s just like you, Yasmine!” it called as it started kicking and punching her fiercely. “Weak and pathetic! No one’s going to come and save you now! You have nothing! You have no one! You are just Trent’s little masochist doll! Run away all you like, but you’ll never escape him! The only reason he keeps you alive is so that he can keep on killing you!” The abuse grew worse within seconds. “YOU HAVE NOTHING!!!!” the shadow yelled at her again. “Give up on your new life; that’ll be gone soon as well! And you’ll be left with nothing again! It’s pointless for you to even go on life this! You might as well die right here and right now! I’ll help you with that!” Then, the evil fiend was about to deliver the final blow to its victim!

Right then, it hit Yasmine. Those were all lies! She did have people all around her. Steven, Paul, Malachi, the WAGs Ella, and Syd were all there for her. They all held her up high. She wasn’t Trent’s little masochist anymore! In fact, that was Trent himself talking to her in the form of this black shadow trying to murder her again. The picture was coming so clearly now! It was pay back time! Yasmine began laughing to herself. “Oh, Trent! You are so dead wrong!” the woman said softly to herself. “I do have something! My friends and family are waiting back home for me!” Then, she drew out her blade, rushed forward, and stabbed the shadow harshly in the chest. The creature froze, stepped back a bit, and fell backwards with a thud. Yasmine rose to her feet and watched the monster die with a smile on her face. She had almost won!

The Stone of Isis shocked Trent in the hand hard. “Ow! Damn it!!!” he yelled out. “That stupid bitch managed to break away from it!” He calmed down enough to move. A sick smirk came across his face. “Well then,” he said. “I’ll have to kill her myself!” Then, the sick bastard flew straight down to his victim. Big error!

He found his ex huddled on the ground the way he wanted. Trent coldly smiled at his supposed victim. “Well, well, well!” he cried out as he walked over to her slowly. “You were able to break and rise above my illusion! Sadly, I know you can’t kill me! You never had it in you! All you could do was run away from me! Well, you can’t run now! So now what are you going to do?” He didn’t see her plotting. So when Trent was standing over her to try and reach out to her, SLASH!!!! Yasmine had beheaded him in one single blow with her blade. Trent’s head and body fell backwards in a vivid red pool of blood. The hunter sat there smiling at she watched. Yas waited a few minutes to see if this was a trap or if she really killed him. When nothing came, Yasmine slowly rose to her feet and walked over to her ex’s severed head. “Sorry Trent,” she said to it. “But, I just did kill you! I’m not running away anymore. I have people for me at home! So, I’m taking your head back to Sydney as an early birthday! And then, you will no longer be a threat to me ever again!” And with that, Yas took off the sack from her shoulders, picked up her ex’s head, stuffed it inside, and tied up the sack tightly. She then chanted a small spell under her breath and the tips of her fingers began to glow a bright red. The hunter lightly touched the decapitated body on the chest. It was engulfed with flames in seconds. Yasmine smiled and watched the little bonfire. The nightmare was now over. The hunter then began walking back to the city.

On her way home, she began to see her future. It was a bright on indeed. Yasmine could see herself returning home to her boys and starting a new life. The hunter smiled to herself as she kept walking. Yes! It was a start to a beautiful future indeed.
