Green Fairy:

Simone’s Notes:

The acknowledgment of sin, or one's sinfulness, is a religious practice in a number of faith traditions. In Catholic teaching, the Sacrament of Penance is the method of the Church by which individual men and women may confess sins committed after baptism and have them absolved by a priest. Although it is not mandatory, the Catholic rite is traditionally conducted within a confessional box or booth. This sacrament is known by many names, including penance, reconciliation and confession. While official Church publications always refer to the sacrament as "Penance", "Reconciliation" or "Penance and Reconciliation", many laypeople continue to use the term "confession" in reference to the sacrament. For the Catholic Church, the intent of this sacrament is to provide healing for the soul as well as to regain the grace of God, lost by sin. Catholics believe that priests have been given the authority by Jesus to exercise the forgiveness of sins here on earth and it is in Jesus' Holy Name by which the person confessing is forgiven. In theological terms, the priest acts in persona Christi and receives from the Church the power of jurisdiction over the penitent.

Havoc whipped around to him, almost dropping his lit cigarette on the floor. “What?!? You’re joking right?” Damon shook his head.

“It’s not a joke,” he said. Sanders looked the lt. in the face, hoping for the appropriate reaction. Havoc didn’t know what to think at first. He took a seat in front of his guest.

“What happened?” the lt. asked. Damon began to smile in a warped way.

“Can I have another drink?” he asked.

“No,” Havoc replied. “Tell it to me sober.” Damon only shrugged.

“Fine, fine,” he said. “I hit rock bottom six years. I kept cheating on Carole and practically going to clinic to get an STD test every week. It on one hot night in July that I came to a realization. Carole and Micah would be better off without me and I didn’t want to live anymore. That’s when I began to plan my suicide. So, I waited until Carole went out to her book club on Tuesdays like she normally did. Micah was sleeping over at friend’s house at the time. I had the house to myself then. I slit my wrists and swallowed almost every pill in the back bathroom. I walked around a bit to help my death go faster.”

“What stopped you?” Havoc asked. Damon’s smile flattened some.

“Carole,” he replied.

Cold. Alex awoke to a bright red haze. His eyes slowly drifted around his surroundings. “Am I in a basement?” he thought. This place looked rather poorly lit. Boxes sat all over the place. He couldn’t smell anything at all. There wasn’t even a certain temperature around him. It was just nothing. Just him and a room full of boxes. Alex tried to get up, but hit his head against something.

“Ow,” he mumbled as he rubbed his head. Alex glanced above him. A stone ceiling lied above him. Alex’s eyes darted around him again. It was then he realized how low to the ground he was. In fact, the boy wasn’t sitting up straight at all. His knees were huddled to his chest. “Okay…” he thought. “This is weird.” Okay, time to get out. But where?

Alex scanned the darkness for an escape. The walls all looked the same to him. Nothing as far as the eye could see. “Come on,” he thought. “There has to be a way out. How did I even get in here in the first place?” The boy kept looking.

A soft giggle came into the air. Alex quickly looked up. “Who’s there?” he asked. The giggle became louder.

“Don’t you know, silly?” a voice asked him. “You’re never getting out of here!” Alex looked around him.

“You again?” he asked. Alex began crawling away faster.

“Give it up!” she yelled again. “You can’t get out this place! You’re never leaving your head!”

“Quit saying that!” the lamb cried. “I’m getting out of here and going home!”

“No, you’re not!” she said.

“Why?” Alex challenged. The voice giggled again.

“You’re never going to make it!” she said.

“Shut up!!!” Alex cried. He began crawling faster and faster. The wall kept growing out and didn’t seem to end. The boy began to panic, but he didn’t stop moving. “I have to get out of here! I have to get out of here!” he thought over and over again as he kept crawling. The dark brown walls refused to give.

Outside, Mustang and Ella sat around Alex’s bed. The mystic held the boy’s hand tight. She leaned in close to his ear.

“Come on, Alex!” she whispered. “Come back to us!”

“You have to fight it!” Mustang yelled. “You can’t let those monsters win! Fight back and come back to us, damn it! Fight back, Alex! Fight back!” His life machine beeped on heavily.

Empty. Alex squinted for a better look. All he could see was grey. “Not this again!” he thought. The lamb found himself sitting on the ground. Or at least he thought it was on the ground. Alex sighed aloud. “This again?” he thought. Well, time to get out of here.  But once again, how? The lamb looked around slowly. He stained to hear anything, something. Nothing. Surprise, surprise. This was turning into Groundhog Day for him. *Sweat drop on the lamb’s head* “Couldn’t they at least change it up a bit?” he thought. Be careful what you wish for…

Suddenly, it felt as if something had bit the lamb on the back of his left shoulder. “Ow,” he mumbled to himself. “What now?” It didn’t stop there, however. Yes, the pain spread, but not immediately. It crawled all over him in an icy way. First to his neck, then to his back, and finally the limbs and chest. Alex gagged for air.

W-What… What is… this?” he thought. “I… can’t… breathe…” The pain mushroomed and deepened into his chest. His head began to ache as he became short of breath. He felt like his brain was crushing him, waiting to explode like an overripe melon.

Help me! Help me!” Alex pleaded over and over again in his head. Dozens of bright little dots Then, black KO.

Outside, Malice had just sunken her fangs into the people of Ametris.
