Giving In:

Simone’s Notes:

Lead us not into temptation. In the bible, only Jesus resisted perfectly. But most of us fall into it. Some can resist for quite a while. However, it catches all of us at a weak moment and takes over. What can we do after it takes us? Sit back and watch the damage unfold? Or do we stand up and fight? The outcome is always the same two: Defeat or victory.

In the morning, Derdra was looking around Jessie’s room. She was really excited from last night. Some of the soldiers and nurses had a party. “Jess!” she called out. “You’ll never guess what happened last night! Breda challenged this other lt. to a drinking game. The lt. didn’t want to do it at first, but after some encouragement, he agreed to do it. So there they were, drinking like fish. Then suddenly this guy comes up to the men and hands them some wasabi to put in their drinks! Breda decided to try it just to be brave. Oh boy! It was sure a sight to see! They we hacking up their lungs and trying to get some…” The junior nurse looked around to see that Jessie was nowhere in sight. She wasn’t even in her bed. Derdra kept looking around. “Hm,” she thought. “Where could she have gotten to this early in the morning?” The junior nurse looked again in their apartment. Then, she thought about doing the last thing on her look-for-Jessie-list. Derdra walked all the way to the Mitchell apartment. She drew in a deep breath and knocked heavily on the door. “One second!” the lt. called on the other side. The junior nurse waited. Oh, Jessie was going to kill her for doing this.

The door finally opened. Derdra looked up to see Don dressed in nothing but a white sheet around his waist. He had a relaxed look on his face. The junior nurse was staring at him confused. Mitchell raised an eyebrow at her. “What?” he asked confused. Derdra snapped herself back to Earth in a rush. “Uh… uh… uh…” she said at first. “Where is Jessie?” Don began to smile at that little question. The junior nurse became suspicious. “Don?” she asked. “Where’s Jessie?” The lt. kept smiling at that question. “Come with me!” he replied at last. Then, Don walked into the apartment. Nervous but still curious, Derdra followed behind.

They came to his bedroom. Derdra was really uncomfortable now. “Why are we here?”she asked uneasily. Don didn’t answer; he just pointed to his bed. Derdra’s eyes grew big in shock when she saw Jessie lying asleep in his bed. “Is…” she tried to ask. “Yes!” Don answered with a nod. “Did she…” the junior nurse began to ask. “Yes!” he answered. “So,” Chopin managed to say again. “Are you…” Mitchell just shrugged. “Don’t know yet.” he replied. “I’ll have to see if she really wants to do it!” Derdra was at a loss for words. “Anything else?” the lt. asked patiently. The junior nurse slowly shook her head was firecracker red cheeks. “N-No! No!” she answered. “I just wanted to know where she was!” Don kept smiling at her. “Okay then.” he replied harmlessly. Then, Chopin turned and quickly hurried away. She slammed the door shut behind her.

That woke Jessie up right away. She slowly fluttered her eyes open and looked around. Don stood near the bedroom door smiling at her kindly. “Morning princess!” he called. Jess turned to him slowly. She was still out of it mentally. Her brain wasn’t fully awake yet. “Don?” she asked in confusion. “What are you doing in my room? And why are you naked?” “Actually,” he said calmly. “You’re in my room!” Then completely woke up the nurse. “Huh?!?” she asked in shock. Don nodded in patience. Something caught Jessie’s attention. She quickly lifted up the sheets and looked down at herself. Fear and shock came across her face. “W-W-Where’s my nightie?!?” she asked aloud in shock. Don kept smiling at her. “Up there,” he answered as he pointed to the ceiling fan up above. Jessie looked up and saw her light blue gown just hanging there from one of the fan blades. “Now,” Don spoke again. “I have no idea where your panties got to my dear. But, I’ll find them soon.” Jessie was trapped in complete shock. It didn’t take her long to figure out what had happened. “No!” she cried out. “We didn’t…” Her baby’s father nodded in happiness. “Yes we did!” he answered. “You were great!”

The poor nurse was worried and angry now. This wasn’t supposed to happen ever! She didn’t want to sleep with her baby’s father anytime soon. She just wasn’t as attracted to him as she used to be. Last night all came back to her in a flash. Last night, the nurse was a little drunk and bored, so she begged Don to take her to let her stay in his apartment until her friends got home. Well, one thing let to another and they ended up in bed together. Jessie was now trembling in mixed emotion. “Y-You! You!” she started to rant. Don waited for her to say it. “I what?” he asked in a calm voice. His baby’s mother’s face was now bright red. “You pervert!!!” she screamed out at last. “You took advantage of me last night!!! How could you?!?” “Actually,” her ex spoke up. “It was all your idea last night. I just went along with it. I didn’t know if it was the beer or you talking, but I was happy to sleep with you again.” That did more harm than good. Jess just grabbed a pillow and tossed it right at the lt. She wanted to kill him so much right now. Oh, but the damage had just started.

By breakfast, Don and Jessie made it down to the dining hall for breakfast. The nurse was refusing to speak to him at all. She just kept glaring at him coldly. Violence was what she was feeling right now. The fact that Derdra knew what happened just made things even more. Don just couldn’t really understand why she was so angry for. “What’s wrong Jess?” he asked like a sweet little child. Phillips resisted the urge to slap him hard. His voice provoked violence with her very soul. Don went quiet again. The nurse stopped in her place. Her baby’s father looked at her with concern. “Jessie?” he asked. “What’s the matter?” “Listen,” she hissed. “Nobody knows about this! So no talking about last night to anybody! Got me?” “Yes Jessie!” her baby’s father replied. “Good!” the woman barked. Then, she pushed open the doors. But when they got inside, everyone was applauding them. Jessie became pale with sickness. Don was lost into confusion. Everybody knew what happened to them last night! Could it all get any worse?

All day, many people were asking them if they were getting back together again. They both gave different answers. “I hope so!” was Don’s answer. “No!” was Jessie’s. “So how did it happen?” Havoc asked Don when they were in the lock room. “Yeah, don’t leave anything out!” Breda encouraged. “Well,” Don began. “Tell us all!” Daphine chirped when the girls were in the pool room. “I’m dying to know the whole story!” Anjia replied. Jessie breathed in hard. “Alright,” she replied. “Last night, we were all having our party in the bar section of this apartment. I had a little bit to drink.” “Jessie came over to me at the window,” Don told the boys. “She said to me, ‘Don, I bored! Mia’s got the key and I doubt that she wants to go anyway at the moment. So care I come in your apartment until they get back?’ What can I say? I couldn’t just refuse the mother of my child.” “So he said,” Jessie went on to the girls. “‘Sure, Jess,’ ‘You might have to carry me out,’ I told him. ‘I can barely walk.’ ‘Okay!’ he said.” “So, I carried her on my arms back to my apartment.” Don went on. “And then what?” Breda asked. The lt. smiled in pride. The story was getting better. “Well, we made it back to my place,” he picked up again. “I was tempted to kiss her again.” “So did you?” Jim asked in excitement. Don grinned again. “Well now,” he picked up again.

“You kissed him?!?” Suri asked in shock. Jessie nodded as if she was in a confessional booth. “Did he kiss back?” Daphine asked. The nurse became pink. “Oh!!!” all the girls called out like little high school girls. “You and him kissed!” Jessie nodded. “And then what happened?” Anjia asked. Jessie took in another breath. “She and I went inside,” Don told the boys. “We just couldn’t stop kissing each other. It was just like old times. I took to my bedroom and carried on there.” “It was like all of the normal brakes were cut off!” Jessie told the girls. “Part of me wanted to stop. But yet… I just wanted more! So I didn’t stop! And the strangest thing was… I actually enjoyed it! I don’t even know why I got mad at him afterwards in the morning for.” Amazed silence was everywhere. “Wow!” was all Anjia could say. “Are you really sure you want to let Don go just like that?” Jessie was ready to say no again, but then she froze. She used to know the answer to that one. But now… “I… don’t really know anymore!” the nurse replied. Ross lightly embraced her. “Aw,” she replied. “Don’t let him go again! Don is perfect for you.” Jessie tried to smile. “I guess…” she said uneasily. “I need to be alone now.” Then, the nurse rose to her feet and headed out the door.

That evening, Don and Jessie ran into each other again. The nurse didn’t know what to do anymore. Usually, she would try to run away. “What’s the use?” Jess thought to herself in defeat. “The dummy’s just going to keep on running after to you until you finally give him the time of day!” Right then, Jessie realized she had to do. She didn’t want to have to come down to this. But, she just had no other choice anymore. Her baby’s father approached her smiling. “Hey there, Jess.” Don said to her in a normal tone. Well, here it was. It was now or never. Jessie drew in a deep breath and said bravely, “Don, I have decided I’ll let you sleep with me again and move in with you.” The lt. looked like a little kid at Christmas time with thousands of new present under the tree for him. “Really?!?” he asked happily. The nurse quickly held up her hand. “Wait!” she called. “You are *not* to go bragging about the sex that we have! Sammy comes we me as well! And it’ll be on my terms! Got me?” Don just kept smiling as he just shrugged at her. “Sure, why not!” he replied. “Thank you!” his baby’s mother replied. A short pause came between them. “Uh, Jess…” Don spoke up again. The nurse looked up at him. The lt. tried to look like a little choir boy with this one. “Will you make love to me tonight?” he blurted out. His baby’s mother smiled at him tenderly. “Actually,” she said. “I’d like that very much!” Don grinned at her like a devil. “My place or yours?” he asked. “Either one is fine!” the nurse answered. “Great!” the lt. called like a happy little puppy. Then, they both to whichever flat was the closed for their latest love adventure. All Jessie could do now was just smile to herself in happily. “I have lost now!” she thought. “But who cares? Just as long as he’s happy now!” Who knew giving in could be so sweet?
