Fourteen Years Gone:

Simone’s Notes:

Sexual morality varies greatly over time and between cultures. A society's sexual norms — standards of sexual conduct — can be linked to religious beliefs, or social and environmental conditions. Sexuality and reproduction are fundamental elements in human interaction and society worldwide. Furthermore, "sexual restrictions" is one of the universals of culture peculiar to all human societies. Accordingly, most religions have seen a need to address the question of a "proper" role for sexuality in human interactions. Different religions have different codes of sexual morality, which regulate sexual activity or assign normative values to certain sexually charged actions or thoughts.

*Fourteen years later*

Mustang awoke in a darken alley. He had some heavy drinking last night. The major general looked all around confused. “Hm?” he thought. “Where the hell am I?” He couldn’t even tell what time it was. But that was only the start. Once he came back to Earth, a slight worry came over Mustang. A sick feeling came over his stomach. Nothing looked familiar about this place. Sure, this was still Ametris, but in a sense it wasn’t. A subway train rushed loudly over his head. The smell of vomit was in the air. Something about this place made the hairs on Mustang’s neck stand straight up. There was something evil about this place.

Then, he heard footsteps walking closer. Mustang slid on his gloves and held up his fingers to start a flame. He waited for whoever was coming to him. The moment was just tense. Then, a bright light flashed upon him. The major general shielded his eyes from the bright light in front of him. At last, the potential-attacker arrived. A man was standing before Mustang with a sword in his hand. Both men stared at each other for a while. Roy looked the younger man up and down. He looked so familiar… This young man was a charming looking bloke. He had short black with a short rattail, deep brown eyes, and a slender build with some muscle. He was dressed in black jeans, a black t-shirt, black army pants, and a long black trench coat. Mustang stared at him a little bit longer. Then it hit him quickly!

“Malachi?” Roy asked aloud. The young man looked at him back.

“How do you know my name?” he snapped at the major general.

“It’s me!” Mustang said aloud. “Major general Roy Mustang!” Malachi stepped closer and looked the sitting man up and down. Surprise and suspicion was in his eyes.

“Mustang?” he asked. “But you’re dead!” Roy was really lost now.

“Dead?” he asked. “What are you talking about? What is this place? When did you hit puberty?” Malachi then looked overjoyed.

“It worked,” he said in a low voice. “It worked! It worked!” Mustang stared at the young man lost. This was just getting even more bizarre by the minute.

“What the f**k are you talking?” Mustang asked. “What worked?” Malachi rushed forward to him and grabbed to major general by his hands. A huge smile was on his face. The look in his eyes made Mustang look even more nervous.

“My girlfriend and I used alchemy to transport you to the future!” Malachi explained. “Nick said that it couldn’t be done! Now he owns me 10,000 cenz!”

“The future?” Roy asked. “This is the future?”

“That’s right,” Malachi said relived. Then, he became serious. He sat down in front of Roy. “We need your help here!” Roy began treating this seriously.

“Why? What’s wrong?” he asked. Malachi looked around quickly.

“I can’t talk here,” he whispered to the general. “They’ll find me here!” Mustang looked lost again.

“Who will find you?” he asked. Malachi didn’t answer him. He just grabbed Roy by the hand and they ran away from the alley. Mustang was still trying to put it all together.

“What the hell is going on here?!?” he asked. “Who are we running from?!?”

“I’ll explain everything later!” Malachi yelled. “JUST COME ON!!!” The men kept running through the darkness. As they were running, Roy looked all around and noticed something very disturbing. Sex clubs, whore houses, bars, and pitch black was all around. Vampire-type whores were roaming the streets. Young human boys were falling right into their traps. Mustang wanted to stop them, but he had to keep moving in order to escape. Right then, Roy began to believe. He was in the future. A very grim future at that. How did things become so sick and twisted?

Malachi and Roy came up to a gated wall. The young man pulled out a golden card and stuck it into the slot. The machine made a low grinding noise.

“Come on, come on!” Malachi hissed at the machine. “Don’t fail me now! I can’t have you fail me now!” Roy looked around nervous. For the first time in many years, he felt fear. This wasn’t a petty fear either. This was fear for one’s own life. He was beginning to see this future for what it really was. But what or who was this unseen enemy that Malachi feared?

Then machine finally beeped and the gate opened wide. Malachi breathed easily.

“Come on,” he said to his new companion. “Let’s go!” Then, the men ran inside the gate. They didn’t even look back when it closed. The men rushed into an abandoned run-down apartment building and hurried to the elevator. Malachi pushed the button and waited. He seemed anxious about something. Mustang wanted to ask why, but figured that now would not be a good time. Malachi would tell him when they were safe. The elevator opened and the men went inside. Malachi closed the door and pressed seven. The elevator moved upwards with a jerk. The young man still looked anxious. Looking at him made Mustang nervous as well. The ride was a silent and uncomfortable one. The smell of vomit and cheat booze was only getting worse. The smell of cigarette smoke wasn’t helping either. Mustang thought that he was going to throw up. Malachi smiled at him a little bit through his anxiety.

“Just breathe slowly,” he told the major general. “It helps for first timers.” Mustang looked at him like he was crazy.

“How can you deal with the smell here?” he asked. Malachi shrugged at him.

“Just fourteen years of living with it, I guess,” he replied. Mustang kept looking at him like he was insane. The elevator stopped on the seventh floor and opened wide. The deity boy peeked out and looked around. He turned back to Mustang.

“All clear!” Malachi whispered. Roy nodded. Both men quickly crept down the hall. They remained silent the whole time. One sound caught get them caught by them. Malachi led Roy quickly down the hall. They came to apartment 777. The deity stood up and pressed the call button.

“Yes,” a girl’s voice said.

“Elyisha!” Malachi whispered to the call box. “It’s me, Malachi.”

“How can I be sure?” the girl asked him. “How can I be sure that it’s not one of them coming to attack us!” Malachi took in a deep breath.

“E40-32DC-2006!” he said. Then the door opened a little bit. The boys peeked inside. A girl was peeking out to them. She looked them up and down and smiled.

“Malachi-chan!” Elyisha chirped at them. “I was so worried you won’t make it back alive!” Then she quickly helped the men into her apartment. Roy closed and locked the door behind them. The living room was pretty dark. The couple didn’t seem to have much furniture in this place. The smell of booze and vomit was here as well. It was pretty cold in the apartment as well. Elyisha lit a couple of candles. Roy took a good look at Hughes’ daughter. She had grown lovely over the past fourteen years. Her hair was long and loose now. She was nice and curvy as well. However, something was hardcore about her. She had grown tough over the fourteen years. Her clothes were one sign of that little fact. Elyisha was dressed in white short shorts, a dark red tube top, a long black light coat, and blood red clips. Her black army boots were right by the door. She had on black lipstick and black eyeliner as well. Her black fingernails completed her hardcore look. Elyisha stood looking at the men. Malachi and Mustang sat on the floor. She took a long and hard look at Mustang. She surprise came over her face.

“General Mustang?” she asked in surprise. “I thought you were dead.” Malachi turned to her smiling.

“It worked!” he said to her. “Our transmutation worked! Nick owes us 10,000 cenz now!” Elyisha was both happy and annoyed. She rolled her eyes annoyed. Malachi noticed her expression. She hated when he gambled. Her man shrugged at her innocently.

“What?” he asked. “We need the money!”

“But what if we lost it?” she asked angrily. Then, the girl turned back to Mustang. “I’m happy that it worked though.” Roy was still lost and confused.

“Okay, what the hell is going on here?” he asked. “Why did you guys bring me here? Who is after you? How did everything go to the dogs?” The couple was silent for a moment. They didn’t know who should talk first. The situation was pretty grim and time was ticking away.

“Elyisha, sweetheart,” Malachi said to his girlfriend. “Could you get something to drink for us? This is going to time a while.” Elyisha nodded. Then she went into the kitchen to get their drinks. The men waited patiently. Elyisha returned with beer and coke.

“I didn’t know what you wanted, general,” she said to Mustang. “So I got you a beer.” Mustang nodded as he took the bottle.

“This is fine,” he said to her. Then he opened the bottle and took a drink. Elyisha sat down with the major general and her boyfriend. Malachi took his beer and took a drink. He then pulled out a cigarette and lit it up. The deity sucked in the smoke and breathed out through his nostrils.

“We’re in dark times here,” Malachi explained. “The Fallen ones have taken over the living realm. 96% of the people here have fallen. Half-breeds and whores roam the streets. The Red Jasmine is everywhere and feeding off our very souls as we speak.” Roy looked at the couple shocked.

“W-Well why aren’t the others helping you?” he asked. “They are trained to stop these guys!” Elyisha and Malachi looked down at the floor in sorrow.

“They’re dead,” Malachi explained. Mustang was really shocked by this.

“WHAT?!?” he asked. “How did that happen?” Malachi looked up at him in sorrow.

“Manami and the Fallen Ones killed them,” he replied. “For fourteen years, the Fallen Ones have reigned supreme here. They keep growing and multiplying” He took another smoke of his cigarette. “We’re all in Hell here!” Malachi went on. “The military has been crushed and those who resist are in hiding. Even Alex and the WAGs are in fear for their lives. So they hide underground with the resistant.”

“Malachi and I are still fighting them off,” Elyisha explained. “They keep chasing us around and tormenting us every day.”

“It’s so hard to fight back,” Malachi explained. “This place is overrun with sex and sinful desires. Everyone just chases after their desires without thinking about the consequences. Manami is indestructible now!” Malachi was fighting back his tears of anger and hurt.

“Damnit!!!” he yelled. “Nobody even cares about true love and purity anymore!!!” Mustang listened to the doom and groom in silence. His questions were slowly getting answered.

“So,” he said. “What happens to me? Do I get killed by the Fallen Ones too?” Malachi shook his head bitterly. He looked so pale. Mustang braced himself for the worst.

“You died before things got worse,” the deity explained. “You died from a poisonous version of the virus that attacks the heart and kills you in days.” Mustang was thrown into a new level of shock. He dies right when his men needed him the most. Could this future get any worse?

Then, there came a knock on the door. The three of them leapt up quickly. Malachi drew out his sword and Elyisha drew out her knives from her shorts. Mustang held out his gloves ready to attack.

“Who’s there?” Malachi asked aloud.

“I want to see my daughter!” a voice slurred out loud from behind the door. Mustang recognized it right away. Shock hit him really fast.

“Maes?” he asked. The young couple looked at each other at first and then at the door. Malachi slowly stepped forward. He opened the door a crack and peeked out. Hughes was crouched on the dirty hard floor looking up. Malachi breathed easily. He turned back to the group.

“It’s okay guys,” he said. “It’s Elyisha’s old man!” Everyone lowered their defense. Malachi opened the door and grabbed the major general inside. Mustang was shocked to see his old friend again in this state. Hughes was badly disheveled. He looked like he was going to be sick. The man had serious bags under his eyes. He had lost too much weight. His eyes and face were the worst part. Hughes had a glazed over look in his eyes. Plus, he reeked of alcohol. Mustang was mortified at the state his friend was in. Hughes looked up his old friend in a daze stupor.

“Roy?” he slurred out. “I thought you were dead! Roy, my old friend!” Then, the drunken man rushed forward to his old friend and hugged him tightly. The major general was nearly suffocated from the smell and the fact that Maes was squeezing him hard. Malachi had to pry him off. He turned to his girlfriend.

“Sweetie, could you take your old man to bed?” the deity asked. Elyisha nodded at him.

“Right,” she said uneasily. Then, she turned to her father. “Come on dad,” she said to him. “Let’s get you into bed now.” Elyisha had to battle him a bit to help Hughes get to bed. Malachi and Roy watched on nervously. They listened for the door to close. When it did, the men turned back to each other. The deity noticed the major general’s pale face.

“Yes, that was your friend, Hughes,” he explained.

“What the hell happened to him?” Roy managed to ask at last. Malachi shook his head grimly.

“It’s a sad story,” he admitted.

“Well, what happened?” the major general asked him. The young man took in a deep breath.

“Eight years ago, Gracia was raped by some incubi,” he explained. “Mr. Hughes was forced to watch the whole thing. Months later, Gracia got an illness and died from it. Ever since then, Elyisha’s old man has turned to pills and drinking to cope.” Mustang felt very bad for his friend.

Meanwhile, Jakob was in his new apartment finishing up his latest painting. He stepped back and sighed. It was another beautiful picture of Riza. She had died twelve years ago. He missed her so much. Her death was since painful for him to bear. All he had now was his paintings of her. Sure, he had his fame and money. But those didn’t make up for losing Riza. All he could do now was to paint her.

“Dad,” a voice called to him from behind. The mouse paused and looked up. His daughter was standing on the stairway looking at him. She had grown into such a beautiful young girl. Fourteen years old and already a charming little thing. She was like a bean pole. Her hair was long and dark brown. She had her mother’s wine red eyes. The girl was dressed in short pajamas. Jakob breathed out when he saw her.

“Oh, Kizzy,” he said. “It’s only you.”

“Yes dad,” the young girl said. “I am here!” She stood next to her father.

“Painting mom again?” Kizzy asked.

“Yeah,” Jakob replied. This time, Riza was an ocean nymph sitting on a seashell. She looked like Venus from the Birth of Venus. The only thing she was dressed in was a long light pink silk cloak. Her eyes had a dreamy look to them. Kizzy had a little smile on face.

“You always make her look so beautiful and at peace,” she said.

“I know,” Jakob said in a soft voice. Kizzy looked up at her father.

“Dad,” she said. “What was mom like?” A tear came from Jakob’s eye. He knew this day would come, but it was still painful to him.

“Your mother was an amazing woman,” he began. “She was my best friend. She was a major in the army when she died. Your mother was smart, brave, loving, and beautiful all in one. I loved her in every way and I still do to this day.” Jakob tried his best to fight back his tears. Kizzy hugged him close to her small body. The mouse just lightly stroked his daughter’s long dark hair.

“It’s going to be okay, dad!” she said to him. Her father nodded at that statement. He took in a deep breath. The mouse only wished that he believed that as well.

Across town, Derdra was closing up her bar for the night. This place was just home to her ever since all of her friends died. St. Mary’s Touch Hospital was now a whore house. The military apartment complex had gone to the dogs as well. But yet, all was not a loss. Derdra managed to keep her looks and make enough money to open this small bar. The money was doing well in this place. She was even healing nicely from old wounds. But yet, she had one little baggage around her ankle. The former nurse was about to close up when she heard the door open wide.

“Sorry,” Derdra called. “I’m closed for to--” She looked up and saw Edward looking at her. He was smiling at her in a sad and wicked way. Fear and relief came over her slender trembling body.

“Yes Edward,” she said to him. “What do you want?” Edward just smiled and closed the door behind him. He sat down at the bar and looked up at her.

“Bloody Mary please,” he said. Derdra tried to stomach her emotions as she prepared his drink. Edward watched with a wicked smile on his face. She handed him his drink and he gave her the money.

“Why did you come here?” Derdra asked him in worry. Edward looked up at her slightly.

“Hm?” he asked. Derdra tried her best to fight back her tears.

“Why did you come here after all of these years?” she asked. “What do you want from me? I don’t have anything for you anymore! I jus don’t! So why did you come back?” Edward lightly grabbed her by the hand. Derdra breathed in about how cold it his human hand felt. It almost took her breath away. It was just like the chill of death. Edward gave his goddess a sad little smile.

“My love,” he said to her sadly. “I only come to you for redemption and I miss you so much.”

“I miss you too,” the former nurse said to him. “But…” The incubus alchemist noticed the hurt in her eyes. After all of these years, Derdra was still afraid of him. There was only one way to this right for now. Edward leaned forward and kissed his goddess on the lips. Derdra went stiff under his lips. Fourteen years and he still had the same effect on her. She instantly kissed him back. The kiss lasted for a long few minutes. Then, the monster lightly pulled away. Derdra stared at him in silence. Edward sat down and finished his drink. The former nurse stood in silence. It was always just the same thing over and over again.

Over at the apartment, the trio heard a loud pound on the door. Elyisha, Malachi, and Roy prepared to attack. Then, the door was broken into with a violent kick. The men stood up to fight. Mustang was in shock to see who they were up against. Havoc was one of the incubi standing opposite of them with a sword in his hand. Something was really dark about him. The Fallen mark was as clear as day on his throat. Roy was in utter shock at what had become of his former friend.

“Havoc?” he asked in shock. The newly-made incubus looked at him with no change in his face.

“Mustang?” Jean asked. “I thought you were dead!”

“What happened to do?” Roy demanded. The incubus laughed at him.

“When you died, we were all lost!” he explained. “Then, Manami-sama came along and gave us a second. Some like Hawkeye-Riis and Sanders resisted and were killed for it. I took the deal to save my wife and son!” Mustang couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“Havoc!” he yelled. “How could you have sold out your comrades like that?”

“Simple,” the incubus replied. “I wanted to live and keep Jaks and Nick safe from my kind, so I accepted Manami-sama’s offer!”

“Traitor!” Malachi yelled to him.

“Oh you can’t talk at all, little boy!” Jean yelled at him. “You’re little friend died here before the shit grew into the better world it is today!”

“Better world?!?” Elyisha yelled out. “Everything is dark here! Everyone gives into their vices too easily! Most of our friends are dead because of it! My father lost his wife because of you monsters! Malachi-kun and I are always in fighting because of scum like you! So tell me how this is a better world! Tell me how!!!” One of the incubi turned to Havoc.

“Boss,” he said. “That bitch is being annoying! Shall we fix her?” Jean smirked at him.

“Kill her old man, the traitor, and the brat,” he replied. “But take the bitch with us!”

“Yes sir!” the incubi all called. Then, the battle began. Mustang, Malachi, and Elyisha didn’t stand a chance. The incubi were just too strong for them. The boys were badly overpowered. The injuries were bad beyond count. Three of the incubi ran down the hall and attacked Hughes there. In the end, the poor man was barely alive. The incubi all kidnapped poor Elyisha.

“Malachi-kun!!!” she screamed. “HELP ME!!!” An older incubus stuck a needle deep into her neck.

“Shut up and go to sleep!” he yelled at her. Elyisha was knocked out within seconds. Malachi looked up in worry. He reached out to her in pain.

“Elyisha!” he yelled. “Give her back to me! Please, I’m begging you! Take me instead! She’s suffered enough!” Havoc and the incubi were all laughing at him.

“Nice that you volunteer!” Jean called to him. “But she’s cuter! And besides, your girlfriend will make a fun toy!” Then, the monsters began to leave.

“Don’t worry Malachi-kun!” Havoc called in a mocking tone. “We’ll take good care of her!” Then, the monsters all left the apartment. They shut the door loudly behind them. Roy and Malachi were left injured on the floor. Roy spit out some blood in anger.

“F**k!” he yelled out. “This is so f****d up!”

“Yes,” Malachi said. “That’s why we need your help!”

“But what can I do?” Mustang asked in angry motivation.

“Go back to your own time and stop it before this curse gets out of hand!” the deity cried out.

“But how?” Roy asked in growing motivation.

“I’ll help you!” Malachi yelled. Then he pushed himself up to his feet and began to look for something to write on. He lucked up and found some ink. Mustang watched as the deity began drawing out a transmutation circle on the wooden floor. Malachi pushed himself up to his feet and dragged Roy right into the center of the circle. The major general grunted in pain as he did so. Malachi stepped out of the circle and began his alchemy. He used the last of his strength to transport Mustang back into the present before collapsing out. Before Roy could yell out to him, he was gone in a flash.

*Present Day*

Mustang woke up and looked around. He found himself back into the alley outside of the bar that he was drinking at after closing time. Everything had returned back to normal. A smile of relief came across his face. “It worked!” he thought. But, this was not a time for celebration. He had work to do. The man had to save his comrades and friends had ultimate destruction. That couldn’t be achieved if he was just sitting around here. “I have to save Havoc and them!” he thought in strong motivation. So he rose to his feet and ran straight home to sleep off his hangover and get to work stopping these monsters before it was too late.
