Dishonor:

Simone’s Notes:

Throughout the world and history, adultery is a heinous crime. It kills many marriages. If a couple was caught in the act, they were tortured and killed. Sometimes, adultery was worse for the woman than it was for the woman. In the bible, adultery was a property crime against the man. The cheating couple was stoned to death. Adultery is wrong in society’s eyes. It is one of the Ten Commandments. Even though the punishments are less now, adultery is still wrong.

It was Friday night and the men of the military were going out for their drink night. The north men persuaded the east men to join them. Derek opted out because he said that he had a date tonight. “So, what’s the game plan tonight?” Jim asked Don. His pal turned to him grinning. “We hit the best bars in town as usual,” he began. “Then we hit the casinos and get smashed there!” “I love it already!” Jim called out. “I knew you would!” the lt. called. Then, they turned to their fellow drinking buddies. “Everyone ready?” Don asked. “Yep!” everyone called. “Don’t forget me!” another voice called out to them. The men all turned to the sound of that voice. They knew who it was too well. It was Sergeant Darius Lennon. He had a cute little baby face and messy light blondish-brown hair. Now, they didn’t hate the newly twenty-six year old sergeant. He was just a bit clingy at times. When he first joined the army, Darius was a shy young man. But after a few drinks and nights on the town, he had turned into a cocky, designer-suited lout who believes it's his right to have the pick of the women. The others had become an annoyance to the others. And he wondered why.

“Darius!” Mustang exclaimed. “We didn’t know you were coming with us!” “Sure!” the sergeant called out proudly. “They promised me that I could come!” By they he meant the north men. Andrew stepped forward. “Hold up!” he said aloud. “When did we say that?” The sergeant slowly began to look disappointed. “Last year we you planned the same get together!” he argued. “I don’t remember that!” Jim remarked. “We were probably drunk then!” By now, Darius was getting desperate. “It was that same night that Tamsin and Doug slept together!” he blurted out. That caught Don’s attention big time! Doug looked up smiling and slightly pale. “What?!?” he said harshly. Darius drew in a deep breath and told all.

[Flashback]

Last year, the men of the North were having their usual boys’ night out. (This was Darius’s first one with them.) Some of them had invited back chicks with them. Don was still married to Tamsin and hadn’t met Jessie yet. The crew was staying at his old house for the night. The lt. went out to get more beer for the morning. The boys were either passed out or off screwing their dates they had brought back with them. Doug sat on the couch half drunk. The girls that were sitting with him were passed out drunk. The lt. was feeling horny. Sadly, most of everyone in the room was out cold from drinking. This was looking like a bummer. Then, she came in. Tamsin had on only a loose and light button-down blue night gown. Her long black hair was down from its usual bun. She looked slightly out of it. Her bluish-grey eyes were filled with burning lust. Don’s wife came and sat down by Doug. The lt. couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Tamsin was smiling innocently at him. Then, she began to unbutton her nightgown. Doug kept staring at her revealing heavy breasts. Suddenly wanted to reach out and grab them. Was she hitting on him? And why was he enjoying it so much? Then, Tamsin began sliding off her gown. Doug found his rod hardening really quickly. Then, Don’s wife moved in close and lightly kissed him on the lips. The lt. completely lost it there. Doug grabbed onto her and kissed back.

Darius just happened to be coming back from the bathroom when he heard some strange noises. Curious, he followed them to the living room. The sergeant peeked around the corner and saw Doug and Tamsin against the wall having sex. Don’s wife was moaning loudly as she held on tightly to him. The 1st lt. was pulling in and out as fast as he could. Darius became really pale. “I shouldn’t be watching this, but I just… can’t pull away!” The man felt bad for Don. He decided never to tell him and keep it to himself.

[Today]

After hearing all of that, Don became angry. Doug was smiling to himself. “Oh yeah,” he said aloud. “I remember that night. She kept begging for more afterwards!” That didn’t help at all. Everyone looked at him coldly. The lt. shrugged. “What?” he asked. “It was last year. And besides, they are divorced now! So what does it matter?” Then, Don walked away. The others turned to him. “Mitchell,” Havoc called out to him. “Where are you going?” The lt. turned to the others. “Darius can go if he wants!” he yelled out. “I’m out now!” Then, he slapped the door behind him. That was the end of that one. Or so they all thought.

The night out was a silent one. Nobody got a single drink. The men all avoid Darius and Doug as well. No one enjoyed the whole time. It glad a little better when Kobe went home early. But that was about it. Doug was just glad to get home at long last. “That was a big disappointment!” he said to himself as he made it to his door. “Well, a little sleep and a glass of whiskey and the whole thing won’t be a whole loss.” (Little did he know!) The lt. unlocked the door and opened it. He hadn’t made it all the way into the living room when he was coldly greeted by the barrel of a rifle to the chest. Kobe looked up and saw Don! He was pissed off at him and dying to pull the trigger. Doug began to get concerned. “Don, old buddy…” he trailed off. The fellow lt. said nothing at first. This wasn’t looking pretty. “Hey pal!” he called. “What’s all of this about?” “You slept with my wife!!!” Don yelled out. “Ex-wife!” the lt. corrected. “Whatever!” Mitchell corrected. “You still slept with her! Now, I must kill you!” Doug raised his eyebrow in confusion.

“But why?” he asked. “Why do you care? You and Tamsin are divorced now!” That only made Don angrier. “You don’t get it, do you?” he snapped. “All of this time I thought it was all my fault when I slept with Jessie! Now, I see that she played a big part in this! Now, I’m going to kill you!” For the first time in his life, Doug felt real fear! “Uh… hey,” he began again. “Maybe we could talk about this!” “NO!!!” Don snapped. “We can’t!” The lt. slowly began backing away in fear. Mitchell began walking closer with the rifle. “Say your prayers, you son of a bitch!” he barked. Doug looked around quickly. “Oh shit!” he thought. “I’m screw!” Then, Kobe tripped over a chord and fell backwards to the ground. The lt. looked up helplessly. Don was grinning at his reaction. “You know,” he spoke up. “You look like the trapped rat you are!”

Meanwhile at the bar, all of the men sat there in silence. “Poor Don!” Fuery spoke up at last. They all looked at him neutrally. “Yeah,” Havoc replied. Silence fell over them again. “It’s a crime you know,” Travis spoke up. “It is dishonor to a man if another man sleeps with his wife.” “I know,” Andrew spoke up. “I know.” Silence came again. Then, a disturbing thought came to all of them. “You don’t think Don would…” Hughes began to ask. They all looked at him. “Well he might!” Hughes suggested. Silence came once again. Jim shook his head as he tried to smile. “Naw!” he said. “Brown bear wouldn’t do that! He’s not that insane!” All of the guys looked at the lt. “But there was that time at the Christmas party two years ago!” Nathan pointed out. Jim thought about that for a moment. “True,” he spoke up. “But still…” “And there was that time at that conference last month before we transferred here.” Mike cut in. “Well, that’s true,” the lt. replied. “But it wasn’t completely his fault!” “Don’t forget that summer last year with those two guys talking bad about those girls!” Steven reminded. Jim went quiet at that statement. “Okay,” he said at last in defeat. “So, Don can get pissed off easily at times. But he wouldn’t go extreme on Doug, lecher or not!” That had a strong sound of doubt to it. A cold silence of worry fell of the men. “Poor Doug and Don!” Breda said. There was no comment on that one. Then, they quickly rose to their feet and ran out the door to stop Don at whatever he was planning to do to Doug.

Doug began to have flashbacks in his head. “Look man,” he spoke up. “I’m sorry! She came onto me first! I couldn’t help myself! I was horny at the time!” “Ha!” Mitchell yelled out as he moved the rifle closer to his prey’s chest. “It’s not just about me! I’m doing a favor all of the men who you stole their wives from! Yes! I’d be a big hero to them! Someone finally killed that evil little rat! But first,” The lt. aimed his loaded riffle at Kobe’s big penis. The other lt.’s eyes gave big in worry! “No!” he yelled out. “Anything but my fun jewels!” Don smirked to himself coldly. “It’s all over, you creep!” Then, he put his finger on the mighty trigger.

“Brown bear, stop!” they heard someone yell out. Don and Doug looked up quickly. Jim and others stood in the doorway staring at them. Don glared at his buddy. “And why should I?” he snapped. Jim and them paused to think about that for a moment. Doug looked relieved. “You came to save me!” he yelled happily. The guys all tried not to laugh. “Save you?” Andrew asked aloud. “Hell no! We came to save Don from himself!” Jim stepped closer. “Listen man,” he spoke up. “Killing Doug is not worth throwing away your career over!” That helped a *little* bit. “But he slept with Tamsin!” the lt. reminded them. “Yes he did!” Darius said. “But there are other ways of dealing with it!” Doug began to try and crawl away to safety. “STAY THERE!” Mitchell yelled at him. Kobe did so in silent fear. Jim finally made it over to his friend.

“Look Brown bear,” he said softly. “Just lower the gun.” “Why?” Don snapped. His friend tried to smile. “Just do it!” Wright said. Don froze for a moment. Then, he slowly lowered the riffle. His pal smiled at him with his boyish smile. “Good,” Jim said. “Just come with me.” Then, the lt. put his arm around his buddy and walked him outside. The other men just left and went home. Doug’s night terror was punishment enough. And now, that was the end of it!
