A Revelation:

Simone’s Notes:

Friends with benefits seem to be a good idea. No real commitments, just sex. But what happens when one falls in love with that friend and the other person doesn’t feel the same way? It leads to sexual frustration, sour times, and unrequited love. But not always. Some relationships blossom from f**k buddies. It all depends on the person’s intention throughout the bond.

Derdra couldn’t deny the truth much longer. She had fallen in love with Edward Elric. But should she tell him or not? The junior nurse was getting mixed opinions about what to do. Daphine told her not to say anything to him about it. “You’ll only scare him away,” she told the junior nurse. But Jessie told Derdra to tell Ed how she felt. “He needs to know!” she informed the girl. “If he feels the same, that’s good! But if he doesn’t, oh well! There will be others!” Both were pretty good arguments. “I want to tell him how I feel, but I don’t want to scare him away!” the junior nurse thought. “But it’ll drive me crazy if I don’t do something!” After a few minutes of debating, Derdra finally made up her mind. “I’ll tell him tonight!” the junior nurse thought.

Then, Derdra pulled out her cell phone and dialed the Clover Inn. She dialed the number and waited. “Hello?” Edward answered on the other line. The junior nurse became excited. “Ed!” she called out. “Dee?” her f**k buddy asked. “Yes!” the junior nurse replied. “What is it?” the alchemist asked on the other line. The junior nurse drew in a deep breath. “You doing anything tonight?” she asked. “No,” Edward answered. “Why?” Derdra tried her best to keep calm. “Meet me at the bridge tonight!” she said. “Okay…” her screw buddy replied slowly. “Great!” Derdra replied. “I’ll see you there!” Then, they both hung up. Derdra looked over at herself in the mirror. “Oh crap!” she thought. “I’ve got to get ready!” Then, she got off of her bed and hurried to get dressed and ready. The junior nurse had to look her best for her crush.

Within minutes, Derdra was on the bridge outside of the city waiting. Her heart pounded against her chest in madness. She had to let her true feelings come out to him. “I only hope he feels the same for me!” the junior nurse thought. “Please let him feel the same!” At last, she heard footsteps. Derdra looked up happily to see Edward himself walking towards her. “He’s here!” she thought. The junior straightened up her looks a little more for him. Ed made it over to her. The boy was smiling at her softly. “Edward!” the junior nurse gasped out. “Yes,” the alchemist said. “I am here, Dee.” His sex buddy came forward and hugged him close. He held her in his arms as well. Her body was so soft and warm. Then, she lightly kissed him on the lips. Edward kissed back happily. They slowly broke away. A playful silence passed over them.

“Alright,” he said to her at last. “What is this about?” Derdra kept a slightly serious face. She drew in a deep breath. “Okay,” the junior nurse thought. “Here goes!” “I love you.” Derdra said boldly. That threw Edward for a loop. He could barely speak. His cheeks turned a bright red really fast. “WHAT?!?” he asked out loud in shock. She swallowed hard. “I love you,” his screw buddy repeated. “I have been battling in my head all of this time! I didn’t want to acknowledge it at first, because I wasn’t sure. But now, I am certain. I love you! I love you! I love you! Please tell me you feel the same about me!” Edward stared at her like a deer a caught in the headlights. “Uh…” he began. The boy feared this would happen. He fooled around with her and now his f**k buddy had fallen for him. He never wanted this for her. The alchemist was in enough trouble with Winry. He couldn’t go and screw things up with Derdra as well! What could he do? How could he get himself out of this? Sure, Derdra was fine and he enjoyed sleeping with her. But he was with Winry and he still loved her. He wanted to try and make things work again. How did things become tangled and complicated?

“Well,” the junior nurse spoke up again. “Do you?” Edward just couldn’t answer her. How could he? The boy just didn’t know what to say to her or find the right words to say it with. His screw buddy’s face dropped. “You don’t, do you?” she asked. “I didn’t say that!” Ed replied quickly. “Then, what am I to you?” Derdra asked him shouting. “Your girlfriend? Someone you play with? A little play thing?” “No! No!” Ed replied quickly. “I don’t see you like that!” “Then, what am I?” the junior nurse asked aloud again. She looked desperate now. The alchemist couldn’t answer that question at all. He was at a loss for words.

“You toy with me, don’t you?” Derdra asked with tears running down from her eyes. “What are you talking about?” Edward asked in disbelief. “I don’t toy with you!” “Yes, you do!” the junior nurse screamed out. “You sleep with me and play with me because you get a sense of power over me! God, how could I have been so stupid? All of this time I believed that you loved me, but now I see it was all a lie!” “Derdra!” the alchemist called. “Don’t be like this!” He tried to reach forward and touch her, but the junior nurse shoved him away. “Don’t touch me or I’ll have you for assault!” she screamed. “But Derdra…” her screw buddy tried again. Sadly, the junior nurse refused to listen. She just choked back her tears and hurried off home in defeat. All Edward could do was stand there and watch. “Where did I mess up?” he thought confused.

Above, Ai-Oni watched everything that had just happened. “Aw, don’t worry, little Dee-Dee!” she thought. “He’ll make up his mind and need you by the time I get through with him!” Then, she dropped her gold key into her red grape wine and took another sip of it.
